We were at a store around and was looking for a quick bite to eat and ran across this gem. We browsed the menu and decided to get the double stack and the brisket with 2 eggs. We were blown away by the flavor and how much quick we received our goodies. We are from Winston so have nothing like that here but I have traveled many times to New York and this is the closest I’ve found with taste. We will be back!

I hadn’t been to Bruegger’s Bagel Restaurant in a long time. But today, I was not going to let another day go by, as my craving for their famous Herby Turkey got the best of me.I went to the Battleground Ave location. It was so nice to be back, as Tequila welcomed me in the moment I walked through the door. The wait for my sandwich wasn’t long at all. The bagel was so fresh! After it was completely devoured, I decided Tequila had made me THE BEST Herby Turkey bagel sandwich I’ve ever had (the secret is the *extra* mouth watering Sun-dried tomato paste!)—and I told her so. She was so pleasant I made sure to hover her a generous. tip. It’s nice to know really good customer service still exists.I tried to get the recipe out of her, but she would.not.cave; she was bound to keep the company’s secret.THANK YOU Tequila, for a wonderful return-to-Bruegger’s experience!I‘ll be back…sooner rather than later!Cheers! It's been months since I've been here. I now recall why! This new group of employees love to talk amongst themselves; they do not greet customers like they used to. They've changed up where you place your order, with no signage. Thank you to the sweet cashier with the heart glasses for telling me. (Hence the 1 star )I ordered one simple item - cinnamon raisin bagel, toasted twice (without burning), with light butter. How could it go wrong?Still slathered in butter, not to mention the unordered hair!I'm done! Returning after months has changed to never.

I paid almost $10 for an egg ham and cheese sandwich. Got to my destination and only had egg and cheese on the bagel. So now I have to drive back 12 minutes because they don’t even answer the phone. I don’t want another bagel I just want my money back. It will be lunch time when I get to take it back. I wanted breakfast. It wasn’t even crowded. Unacceptable and pissed🤨🤨

This isn’t really a review. It’s more of a heads up to management or corporate. The bagels here are chronically undercooked and pale in color. The potato chips I had alongside my sandwich were literally three shades darker than the bagel itself. A properly cooked bagel should be a nice golden brown color not light tan. Over the two years living in Greensboro I’ve watched the color of the bagels get lighter and lighter to the point today it felt like the bagel was bordering on raw dough. My family owned a well loved bagel store in New York City for many years and is still in existence under the new owners, so I would consider myself somewhat of a subject matter expert in this field. I have a feeling that the oven needs to be recalibrated/repaired.It’s probably time to get a technician out to make sure the oven temperature inside is the same as what’s on the temperature gauge/thermometer. Whenever we noticed a deviation in our bagels, it was almost always the oven, especially if it’s electric. (Heating elements do wear out)If by some miracle, the oven is actually functioning correctly then it’s just a matter of cook times. This place is always pretty busy and I can imagine the staff getting stressed out and taking the bagels out early just to get product on the shelf. This is a management issue. I would rather people wait for a properly cooked delicious bagel than get them out the door with some half cooked raw dough. An old trick we used to use in New York was to take a brown paper bag and compare the color to the bagels. If the bagels are lighter in color than the bag, they’re undercooked. Most bagel enthusiasts would probably want them a little darker and even a little bit of a crisp to the outer layer, but if you are in a rush, at bare minimum they should be as dark as a brown paper bag.Somebody please look into this, no more anemic bagels please.Update: Returned yesterday 12/27/24 hoping for a better result but it was more of the same. Posted pictures this time. Pale and anemic looking bagels with a doughy wet inside. That will be my last time ever going to this place. Sad because of the close and convenient proximity to my house. Oh well…
