Very nice pastry/a restaurant. Came here for some coffee and a pastry decided to try the carrot muffin cause it’s the most popular pastry. The service was excellent and it was a really cold Saturday morning so of course it was nice and warm and the lighting was very nice and I would definitely recommend you go there. They have nice selection of cakes, town, Italian cookies and assortment of sliced cakes and assortment of cupcakes miscellaneouscookies and of course the pastries. Another go to in Hamilton Heights.
Jan 4 · Ms CIt has been a long time dream of mine to pass by here! As a native New Yorker and born (& raised) here in uptown Manhattan, I have been wanting to check this neighborhood legend for a while. Well here is my rate out of 5.I got a coffee and a carrot muffin. The carrot muffin is by far the best carrot muffin I’ve had. (It’s also the first carrot muffin I’ve ever had.) The muffin’s top is nice and crisp. Loved the top honestly! Such a good muffin all around: not too sweet but sweet enough. And the carrot taste is there but not overpowering. The coffee was weak. It’s what makes this review a 4 instead of 5. The coffee was just not tasty and with the milk it tasted like hot water with milk. Just disappointed that a bakery would have mediocre coffee.I enjoyed sitting here and people watching. The dream come true did not disappoint (aside from the coffee itself.) Will I be coming back? For sure. 🥹
Aug 21 · Dulce MarquezI walked in looking at the cakes & cookies had a slice of coconut cake it was so delicious 🎂👍
Jul 1 · Butch Brown730yrs ago my college friend hooked me onto the Strawberry Shortcake. We would frequently buy it for birthdays & other celebrations throughout those 30 yrs. Ppl always asked where we got the cake from & raved about it. It’s been about a year or 2 since I last was in the area to purchased the cake. So when I found myself in the area on Tuesday, I stopped at Carrot Top, I requested a Medium size cake & I asked them to cut the cake in slices. They refused to. “We can’t cut the cakes”. Which I found really weird. I mean it’s a cake. What would they be liable for? When I tasted the cake I was highly disappointed. It did not taste the same. It was bland & the icing did not look to have the consistency it always did. It was way toooo sweet and left an after taste that I had not experienced when having eaten it in the past. I shared the cake w/friends that have tasted it before and they were surprised this was the same cake we buy from Carrot Top. I ended up having a lot left because of that, I took it home put the cake in a container and put it into the fridge. 2 days later I took it out to have a piece. It was worse, The cake was hard the strawberries on top were bad even the sweetness did not help camouflage what was going on there. Idk what happened in the last 2yrs. They must have a new baker or that cake was not fresh. Cause I like to enjoy this cake so I would always portion it out at the very least for a week. And I had to throw it out after 2 days!! Ugh.
