Spending $30 on a strawberry vanilla cake for a special occasion only for it to be extremly dry is disappointing and embarrasing. The cake was not moist at all and was definitely not freshly baked. This was for a special occasion, a small celebration for a friend. I took the cake to a restaurant, where we had it for dessert after the dinner. Obviously I didn't have a chance to try the cake before serving to my guests. Let's just say, the second I took my first bite, I instantly realized the cake was dry!! To have an excellent steak dinner followed by a dry stale cake? How embarrassing and underwhelming. Not only does this reflect poorly on your bakery, but on me as well.I took a chance on this place, being in the area and needing to get the cake last minute. I wanted to get something that presented nicely while trying out, supporting a new small business, but that was a massive mistake. Could have gone to 85c and got something much better for the same price, or even a grocery store! You live and you learn...

What Is Worth Choosing at Choco Bakery & Cafe
Choosing a local bakery and cafe is about finding a reliable source for quality and variety. Based on its identity as a patisserie and the specific items detailed on its menu, Choco Bakery & Cafe offers several compelling reasons for Californian locals to visit, particularly for those in the Chino and Inland Empire area.
Firstly, the sheer variety of specialty hot beverages is a major draw. For coffee aficionados, the extensive latte list is a standout feature. Where many cafes offer only a handful of flavors, Choco Bakery & Cafe provides over a dozen unique options, including the trending Green Tea Matcha ($5.00) and the comforting Hot Chocolate ($5.00). For those seeking something truly unique, the Pistachio Latte or the Dulce De Leche flavor profiles at $5.50 each offer a sophisticated departure from standard fare, providing value for money for an elevated coffee experience. The dedicated Tea Bar also ensures that all preferences are met, offering high-quality options like the Premium Green and soothing Chamomile for just $3.50.
Secondly, the positive customer feedback strongly suggests that the true excellence of this patisserie lies in its smaller, delicate, and fresh pastries. The glowing review that singles out the crème brûlée and the eclair filled with crème indicates that these single-serving, freshly made items are of superior quality and worth a special visit. This aligns perfectly with its self-identification as a patisserie, which traditionally excels at individual pastries rather than large celebration cakes. This is a critical distinction for potential customers: for a spontaneous treat or a refined dessert, the daily pastries, which are praised with a "chef's kiss," seem to be the safest and most satisfying choice.
It is important for potential customers to note that, as with any bakery, quality can sometimes be inconsistent, particularly with large items like special-occasion cakes, as evidenced by a specific customer review that mentioned a dry strawberry vanilla cake. This highlights that while the daily patisserie items may be excellent, customers ordering larger custom cakes for events should potentially verify the baking process or choose a specialty known to be consistently fresh. The majority of positive feedback centers on the excellent coffee and fresh pastries, which are the mainstays of a successful cafe/patisserie model.
Finally, the presence of affordable savory options, such as the Mascarpone and Apricot Jam toast ($4.50), alongside the comprehensive payment and accessibility features, make it a highly convenient stop. Whether you are seeking a traditional Vanilla Latte, a spicy Chai Tea Latte, or a quick Ham Cheese & Jalapenoe sandwich before work, Choco Bakery & Cafe offers a diverse menu designed to meet multiple needs of the busy Californian consumer. When in Chino and seeking a high-quality, quickly served dessert and coffee, this patisserie is certainly worth a visit to explore its praised small-batch treats and extensive beverage selection.
In summary, Choco Bakery & Cafe offers the Chino community a dedicated spot for specialty coffee, a wide variety of teas, and a selection of fresh patisserie items. Its commitment to accessibility and diverse payment options further cement its status as a valuable local business on Grand Ave.

A recent visit to Chico bakery in Chino hills, we enjoyed the pastry and desserts there, also the coffee was nice, our favorite was the crème brûlée and the eclair filled with crème, must try and you will love it, chef’s kiss
Apr 14 · AndyWent in to try a Dubai chocolate and also got a pecan bar. The Dubai chocolate was what I expected from trying other places but the pecan bar had a heavy taste of cleaning detergent. One bite and I threw it out. I appreciate wanting to be a clean facility but to have that flavor transfer into your food is bad. Seeing how much the desserts cost and other choices in the area I probably wont be back.
Jul 28 · Richard LoMy family and I enjoyed the cake we bought here. We had the tiramisu cake, and it was delicious! Moist, soft, flavorful.
Jul 6 · Abraham EsparzaSadly this place is nothing special as is most places in chino. The odor of cleaning chemicals just about knocked me over when I stepped in the door. Ordered the Dubai chocolate that was $14 for an 3x3 inch square and the chocolate was basic and not tempered. Melted as soon as I picked it up and completely fell apart. Also ordered the Bavarian pastry that was made with philo dough and it was also impossible to eat. Tried to take a bite and the dough was so tough that all the filling squeezed out of it. Also got a fruit tart and again nothing extraordinary. Also went to the website for nutritional info and there wasn’t any. I had higher expectations for this place and was sadly disappointed.
