About and visit notes

Introduction / Overview

For value-conscious shoppers across the Washington region, particularly those in the greater Seattle area, the Franz Bakery Outlet stands out as a unique and indispensable resource. Unlike a traditional artisan bakery or full-service restaurant, this establishment, located strategically in Seattle, functions primarily as a Bakery and a dedicated Discount store. Its core mission is to provide high-quality bread and baked goods—often the same products found in major supermarkets—at significantly reduced prices, making premium baked goods accessible to a wider demographic.

The appeal of the Franz Bakery Outlet is twofold: its exceptional pricing model and its surprisingly extensive range of specialty products. Customers consistently note the prices as "great" and the experience as offering "budget bread at 1/3 the price." This substantial discount allows Washington families and individuals to save significantly on a daily necessity, encouraging smart shopping habits like buying in bulk and freezing loaves for future use, a strategy actively shared among budget-savvy patrons.

However, the value extends far beyond just bulk, affordable loaves. The outlet has made a remarkable commitment to catering to modern dietary needs, stocking a robust selection of specialty products that are often prohibitively expensive at standard retail prices. The House Specialty list confirms a focus on both low-carb and gluten-free options, including high-demand items such as the Keto White Bread and Keto Hamburger Buns, as well as an impressive array of Gluten Free products like Franz Gluten Free Great Seed Bread, Gluten Free Plain Bagels, and Franz Gluten Free Hotdog Buns. This blend of steep discounts and specialized inventory positions the Franz Bakery Outlet as a critical source for both everyday staples and health-conscious alternatives in the Washington market.

Location and Accessibility

The Franz Bakery Outlet is conveniently located within the industrial and commercial hub of Seattle, making it an easy destination for quick, focused shopping trips. Its location is highly strategic for local access, ensuring that patrons can quickly enter and exit with their purchases.

The full address is: 2901 6th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134, USA.

Situated on 6th Avenue South, the outlet is positioned to serve a broad segment of the city's population. Accessibility is clearly prioritized to ensure a smooth shopping experience for all Washington residents. The location features a Wheelchair accessible entrance, allowing for easy navigation into the store. Furthermore, for shoppers driving to stock up on their bread supply, a dedicated Wheelchair accessible parking lot is provided, which significantly aids those with mobility challenges in loading bulk purchases. Complementing this ease of access is the availability of a Free parking lot for all patrons, removing one of the typical frustrations of urban Seattle shopping. The entire setup is geared toward facilitating a Quick visit, perfect for patrons who know what they need and want to get in and out efficiently while securing their essential baked goods.

Services Offered

The Franz Bakery Outlet utilizes a simple yet effective set of service options designed for maximum convenience and flexibility, meeting the varied needs of its Washington customers. The services are tailored to its function as a high-volume discount provider:

  • Delivery: Offering the convenience of having their products transported to customers, which is a valuable service for those unable to make the trip or for bulk orders.
  • In-store shopping: The traditional and most common method, allowing patrons to browse the wide selection of discounted goods, seek advice from the friendly staff, and select their preferred items, including the extensive range of specialty breads.
  • Takeout: As with any retail outlet, all purchases are packaged for immediate removal from the premises, facilitating a quick transition from selection to checkout.

This model ensures that whether a customer needs a few loaves for the week or a large batch to freeze, the process is simple and efficient. The "friendly and helpful" nature of the store workers is highlighted by patrons, who appreciate receiving "feedback and suggestions for bread," demonstrating that despite the discount store model, personalized customer service is a key component of the shopping experience here in Seattle.

Features / Highlights

The unique appeal of the Franz Bakery Outlet is rooted in a combination of high-value propositions and specialized inventory that caters directly to the local Washington consumer:

  • Exceptional Discount Pricing: The most significant feature is the deeply discounted price model, frequently noted as approximately "1/3 the price" of standard retail, allowing customers to realize substantial savings on daily staples.
  • Extensive Specialty Bread Selection: A core highlight is the impressive focus on niche and dietary-specific baked goods. The offerings include high-demand items like Keto White Bread and Keto Hamburger Buns, alongside an array of dedicated gluten-free options such as Franz Gluten Free Great Seed Bread, Gluten Free Plain Bagels, and Franz Gluten Free Dinner Rolls, addressing a critical need for affordable specialty items in the Washington market.
  • Affordable Bulk Buying Opportunity: The discount structure actively encourages "Buy and freeze" habits, providing a practical solution for long-term food budgeting, a practice valued by Seattle-area families.

What is Worth Choosing

Choosing the Franz Bakery Outlet in Seattle is a decision to prioritize quality, affordability, and practical efficiency for your everyday bread needs. For Washington residents, this outlet is worth choosing for several compelling reasons that extend far beyond a simple transaction. Firstly, the core value proposition—getting high-quality baked goods at a fraction of the cost—is a massive advantage for household budgeting. The opportunity to save up to two-thirds on regular retail prices, enabling customers to stock their freezers with essentials, is a crucial benefit in the high cost-of-living environment of Seattle.

Secondly, the commitment to dietary specialization is a huge draw. For individuals and families in the Washington area managing celiac disease, gluten sensitivities, or following low-carb/Keto diets, finding affordable access to products like Keto White Bread or Franz Gluten Free Bagels is a game-changer. These items, often premium-priced elsewhere, become accessible here, ensuring that health-conscious choices do not require a major financial sacrifice. The extensive list of house specialty items confirms this deep commitment to niche markets.

Finally, the Franz Bakery Outlet is worth choosing for its community-focused infrastructure and service. The acceptance of SNAP/EBT ensures that nutritional access and affordability are prioritized for all members of the Washington community. This practical measure, combined with the excellent physical accessibility (free parking, wheelchair access) and the consistently positive customer service—where staff are genuinely helpful and offer advice—transforms a simple discount bread purchase into a positive, community-oriented, and fiscally responsible shopping experience. It's the destination for smart shoppers who never want to pay full price for quality bread again.

This is a discount bread place, not a restaurant. The workers in the store are always so friendly and helpful to give feedback and suggestions for bread. Prices are great!

Easy in and out budget bread at 1/3 the price. Buy and freeze bread for later use. Here is a tip. If you freeze bread, to defrost a loaf, stand it up on the bottom end and it won't have a hard crust typical of bread that is frozen.

Great little shop for a local Baker, Franz. The first Saturday of the month has a big $1 sale so we load up the freezer with sandwich bread, bagels, etc. Great value for a good, local product. Can't beat that!

The service was excellent. Its day old bread, so you know going into this, its not the freshest but it's hard to tell the difference between day-old and the bread on the shelves in grocery store. I usually see bread I dont see in the store too

It's an outlet for overstocked bread. Good bread, nice staff, this isn't a boutique store it's an overflow location. Don't expect displays, staff who upsell you, or gift wrap. Do expect good bread exactly as you'd buy it in store but fresher (the factory is in the same building!), nice staff, the most amazing prices!
