What is Worth Choosing

If you are planning your first trip to Heirloom Bakery & Hearth, choosing from the expansive and tempting menu can be daunting. However, several items stand out as local favorites and define the bakery's unique approach.

The most celebrated item is arguably the Biscuit Sandwich. Customers consistently rave about the quality of the flaky, buttery biscuits and the creative, homemade fillings. We highly recommend trying the daily Special Biscuit Sandwich, as it showcases the bakery's commitment to seasonal and imaginative flavor combinations. If a special is unavailable, the savory Meat or Veggie options built upon their famous cheddar chive biscuit are always a fantastic choice. The accompanying house-made jams and chutneys are often the "secret weapon" that makes these sandwiches truly memorable.

For a sweet treat, explore the rotating pastry case, but keep an eye out for their renowned homemade Pop-Tarts. These nostalgic treats are baked with fresh, seasonal fruit and offer a substantial, high-quality indulgence that far surpasses any store-bought version. Alternatively, a popular sweet-savory pairing is one of their exquisite lattes—the Honey Rosemary Latte or the Maple Cardamom Latte are excellent examples of their inventive, comforting flavor profiles.

Lastly, don't leave without one of their artisan loaves of bread. Whether it is a classic Sourdough or a more adventurous loaf like the Spent Grain Sourdough, taking a loaf home is the best way to extend the Heirloom experience. The commitment to fresh, scratch-made food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a uniquely creative menu is why Heirloom Bakery & Hearth is highly recommended and why Kansas City locals find themselves drawn back weekend after weekend.

One of my favorite spots in KC. My husband and I have to make a point not to come here every weekend for breakfast. The staff is super friendly, the pastries are delicious and I’ve never been disappointed with any meal I’ve ever gotten here. It’s very family friendly and an easy place to bring a baby or kid. I always bring out of town visitors here - you really cannot go wrong. They also have a lot of vegetarian friendly options.
