About and visit notes

In Massachusetts, local coffee and donut shops are more than just places to get a quick bite; they're essential parts of the community's daily rhythm. Honey Dew Donuts, located in Ashland, has long been one of those familiar spots. Part of a regional chain that is a staple throughout New England, this particular location serves the Ashland community with its well-known menu of coffee, donuts, and breakfast sandwiches. For many residents, Honey Dew represents a convenient and reliable option for a morning routine. The brand has built a strong presence over the years, and its familiarity is a comfort to many. This location offers a place where locals can start their day, whether it's with a classic glazed donut, a coffee to-go, or a hearty breakfast sandwich. The local feel of a place like Honey Dew often comes from the individual location's staff and its role in the neighborhood. It becomes a go-to spot not just because of the brand, but because of the specific experience it offers to its local patrons. This particular branch seems to have a dedicated following for specific items, which is a key part of its identity within the Ashland community. Its existence as a local gathering place, where people stop in before work or school, solidifies its role beyond just a commercial establishment; it’s a part of the local landscape.

The customer experience at this Honey Dew Donuts location is a subject of contrasting feedback, as is often the case with businesses that serve a high volume of patrons. One glowing review highlights the store’s role as the "go to place for Bagel Friday," a testament to its popularity for a specific weekly tradition. This customer praised the location for having the "best bagels in Ashland," specifically mentioning the sausage, egg, and cheese on an Asiago bagel as a favorite. They also appreciated the employees who "go out of the way to remember people's names," which points to a strong sense of community and personal connection. This type of service is what turns a simple transaction into a memorable experience and builds long-term loyalty. The review also provided a practical tip for other customers: "make sure to go early because they do sell out," which speaks to the high demand for their bagels. However, a different customer review provided a starkly different, and much more negative, account. This person described an "infuriating" experience with a "rude and dismissive" employee, citing eye-rolling, sighing, and a general lack of courtesy. They also expressed frustration with an "overpriced" Red Bull drink that was "barely half" full in the cup. This review highlights a breakdown in service and value, with the customer feeling disrespected despite being "nothing but polite." The discrepancy between these two reviews illustrates the challenge businesses face in maintaining consistent service, especially during busy times. It shows that while many customers have positive, long-term relationships with the staff and products, a single negative experience can be powerful enough to deter a customer from returning. The reviews together paint a picture of a place that, at its best, is a beloved community fixture, but at its worst, can be a source of frustration due to service issues and perceived poor value.

I visited Honey Drill today at exactly 2 PM and I’ve never been treated with so much disrespect in a customer service setting. The woman at the window, a Hispanic lady around 60 years old, was unbelievably rude and dismissive from the moment I arrived. I politely asked her if they had sugar-free Red Bull and instead of answering she just snapped go to the window. I went, even though I was already there. I kept trying to talk to her but I couldn’t tell if she was even listening to me. I ordered a large Red Bull without ice because it’s freezing today and a croissant with cheese and bacon. My total was 12 dollars. That’s a ridiculous price for what I got. She poured the Red Bull into the large cup and it wasn’t even full, barely half. A can of Red Bull is 2 dollars in stores and this cost me over 6 for a half cup. On top of that, she kept sighing loudly, rolling her eyes at me and acting like I was a burden. She was literally huffing in my face the entire time. I work in customer service too and I understand bad days but I was nothing but polite. There was absolutely no reason for her to treat me like that. This experience was infuriating. Overpriced drinks and terrible service. If this is how you let your staff treat paying customers I’m never coming back.

This is our go to place for Bagel Friday. They have the best bagels in Ashland. Make sure to go early because they do sell out. My favorite is Sausage Egg and Cheese on an Asiago Bagel. Sometime just a toasted Asiago Bagel with butter is all I need. The employees go out of the way to remember people's names.

My go to!! I usually go between 5 and 2 and the staff is incredible. They always come say hi at the window and are very friendly. One person had made my drink wrong, the lady at the window noticed it didn’t look like my usual, and fixed it! Love love love the morning staff. I had one bad experience, last night I was waiting at the speaker for 5 minutes at least, I finally drove up to the window and the older lady seemed upset at me. Her headset was not even on her, she was talking to someone in the lobby, and told me the headset didn’t ring? I saw that it was not on. That’s my only bad experience here, but expected with night shift most places.
