About and visit notes

Located in the picturesque and dynamic city of Coral Gables, JuanCafe offers Florida residents a welcoming spot that combines the quality of a dedicated Bakery with the essential convenience of a modern coffee shop and breakfast location. Situated on Aragon Avenue, this establishment has positioned itself as an accessible hub for both daily commuters and local residents seeking a quick bite, a strong cup of coffee, or a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

JuanCafe is much more than just a place to grab a pastry. It offers a full suite of service options—Delivery, Takeout, and Dine-in—ensuring that it meets the diverse needs of the fast-paced South Florida lifestyle. Whether you need a fresh cup of Coffee to jumpstart your morning, a satisfying Breakfast meal, or a quick parcel of baked goods to take home, JuanCafe has the operational capacity to serve you conveniently. The emphasis on a Quick visit as a planning option suggests an efficient and customer-focused approach, ideal for Coral Gables professionals and families on the go.

The initial reviews for JuanCafe highlight several key aspects of its appeal to local users. One satisfied customer praised the establishment for its "Good food / coffee, comfy atmosphere, kind service, and customer bathroom available." This multi-faceted positive feedback emphasizes the overall pleasant experience, recognizing not just the quality of the products but also the crucial comfort and hospitality factors. Furthermore, the note that "Spanish and English spoken" is a significant feature in a multilingual community like Coral Gables, promoting an inclusive environment where customers can communicate comfortably in their preferred language.

However, a balanced perspective requires acknowledging constructive feedback. Another customer expressed strong dissatisfaction, specifically with the food preparation, stating, "how can you heat the emplanadas and the pastel de pollo in the microwave????. CRAZY!!!!" The customer suggested that using an air fryer would be a "better idea" to maintain the crispness and consistency of the food, noting that the microwave made the items "too soft" and resulted in a very "unhappy" experience. This review is a clear indication for management to review food preparation methods to meet customer expectations for quality and texture, especially for savory baked goods. For potential customers, this information serves as a useful heads-up: while the coffee and atmosphere are praised, it may be prudent to inquire about the heating method for certain savory items upon ordering.

Despite this noted inconsistency in food preparation, the overall offering of a comfortable, bilingual, and fully accessible location that serves great coffee and breakfast positions JuanCafe as a valued part of the Coral Gables business landscape. Its dedication to providing various services and ensuring physical accessibility makes it a practical and welcoming choice for the local Florida community.

I rarely comment or write reviews, but I was so disapointed with the food, that I have to say; how can you heat the emplanadas and the pastel de pollo in the microwave????. CRAZY!!!!. it would be a better idea to use a air fryer; this would keep the consitency of the food. Microwave makes the outside of the empanada and the pastel too soft...Not good, very unhappy. It won't eat there again, that is for sure.

The cleaning should start after clients are done coming in, as it makes it uncomfortable for guests to have to lift their feet up on the sofa to allow the cleaning lady to mop under us, or even our feet. It’s 4PM, and she’s complaining her shift ends at 3:30PM, as if it’s the clients fault. The cleaning lady was extremely rude, and combative with me, then went around talking and complaining about me to the other employees, IN FRONT OF ME, so when I told her it was an uncomfortable situation she decided to argue with me, so much that another employee had to apologize for her behavior.

Colombian taste, food quality and reasonable prices? NOT AT ALL! I have eaten at this place several occasions during my visits to the Colombian Consulate. In the past, food wasn’t good, but at least had the Colombian taste. During my last 3 visits, the meals are FAR from the Colombian taste. They never have any Colombian bakery goods available. Lunches are very pathetic in size, presentation and a mediocre flavor. Prices are extremely high for such a terrible quality! It is sad to see a place like this, claiming to offer exceptional Colombian foods, quality and service when they ARE NOT! It is also sad, to see Colombian compatriots in line to purchase “Colombian food” in lieu of finding the great taste and quality of our foods, but walking out of there, disappointed and with a broken pocket for such absurd high prices!
