Kossar's had the BEST chocolate babka and bagel sandwiches that I tried while visiting New York. Even though they were busy they still moved quickly and efficiently! I will be back.

When I passed this store on the bus (AM09:00, FRI), I noticed that there were many people queuing outside the store. Judging from the crowded crowd and lively atmosphere, the food in the store must be delicious. I will definitely go into the store and buy some food next time I have the chance.
Jun 28 · Tseng SimmonKossar’s Bagels is a Lower East Side institution. Known primarily for their bialys, Kossar's has expanded its menu to include some of the best bagels in the city. The bagels here are everything you want from a traditional NYC bagel: chewy on the inside, with a perfect golden crust on the outside. Whether you’re opting for a classic plain bagel or something more adventurous like an everything or sesame seed bagel, the quality remains top-notch. Their bagels are always fresh, often warm from the oven.Kossar's offers a wide variety of spreads and toppings, from classic cream cheese and lox to innovative flavored cream cheeses that add a fun twist to your breakfast. The vibe at Kossar’s is casual, with a no-frills, old-school atmosphere that emphasizes the food. There’s also plenty of space to sit and enjoy your meal if you’re not taking it to go. One downside is that it can get busy during peak hours, especially on weekends, but the wait is always worth it.
Oct 20 · carlos borgesNot bad, but I wouldn’t consider this my go-to bagel cafe. The bialy was good, but nothing special, in my opinion. I believe there’s only 2 bialy flavors- garlic and onion, I did not see a plain one. Not a huge variety of cream cheeses, mostly the classics (e.g., lox, strawberry, cucumber and dill). Great service and clean cafe with decent amount of seating.
Apr 5 · Jasmine MJThe bagels are always super fresh and of the perfect consistency. Delish varieties of cream cheese laid on thick like in the old days. Very friendly staff at reg and working the line (where Jose knows my order even though I don’t go all the time). Only problem I have is that the coffee is way overpriced.
