In this pastry shop/bakery I want to try everything. The bread looks great, challahs, croissants, cookies, cakes! On a sunday morning there were a little too many people here, but that's understandable. However it did not feel overwhelming - you could find free tables to sit both inside and outside the cafe.We tried the mango cake - very tender and tasty. The cappuccino was wonderful and the morning sandwich was delicious.I will definitely come back to try the croissants and the chocolate pudding cake.

About and visit notes
## Introduction / Overview: A Taste of France in the Triangle
For those of us in North Carolina's vibrant Triangle region, finding a true, authentic artisan bakery can elevate the everyday. Look no further than La Farm Bakery in Cary, a destination that is far more than just a place to pick up a loaf of bread. Opened in 1999 by Master Baker Lionel Vatinet and his wife Missy, La Farm Bakery is the realization of a lifelong dream to bring the centuries-old baking traditions of a true French *boulangerie* (bakery) to the community of North Carolina.
Vatinet, a member of the prestigious artisans' guild, *Les Compagnons du Devoir*, has dedicated his life to the craft of bread-making. His philosophy is simple yet profound: honor tradition, embrace the community, and use the finest ingredients. This commitment shines through in every hand-crafted loaf, every flaky pastry, and every carefully prepared cafe meal. La Farm Bakery seamlessly combines the best of a traditional French artisan bakery, a welcoming cafe, and a beloved local breakfast restaurant, making it a cornerstone of the Cary community.
The core of La Farm’s operation revolves around their signature breads, which are crafted daily in a European-style hearth oven. These loaves benefit from a unique and lengthy three-day process—a method that ensures maximum development of flavor and texture. Furthermore, Vatinet is a staunch advocate for using local and high-quality ingredients, including unbleached, unbromated flours and locally-milled grains from producers right here in North Carolina, such as Carter Farms in Pinehurst and Carolina Ground in Asheville. The result is an exceptional, authentic product that has earned the bakery a stellar reputation and features in national publications like *O Magazine*, *Food & Wine*, and a recognition from *Saveur* as one of the 20 Great American Bread Bakeries.
Whether you're stopping by for a quick, delicious pastry and coffee or planning a relaxing Sunday brunch, La Farm Bakery offers an experience that is deeply rooted in the "love of bread" (*pour l'amour du pain*) and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

This is one of our family’s favorite spots for all things bread and breakfast. We always make a stop here whenever we’re in the area. In the morning, there are usually plenty of tables available, so we’ve never had to wait for a seat. The food always comes out fresh, hot and delicious, with plenty of sweets and savory items to satisfy every craving. We especially loved our breakfast and chocolate eclair, though we did find the coffee eclair a bit disappointing. It dry and tasted like it was not fresh.
Sep 11 · Dee DangI like coming here, but I feel like it has gone up in price/value. $3.99 for a soft drink is outrageous. The bakery items are so yummy, I next time I will just get a water. Also, the value you get for the breakfast sandwich is not there. I paid over $20 for the food you see in the photo. 🤦♂️
May 3 · Jeff SchroederLa Farm Bakery – A Flavorful Escape!Stepped into La Farm and it truly felt like a slice of bakery heaven!Tried their sugar cookies, macarons, and the dreamy French Brest éclair – each bite was full of flavor and finesse. The quality, freshness, and delicate textures make it worth every penny. Yes, it’s a tad pricey, but totally justified by the experience. If you’re a dessert lover, this place is a must-visit!
Mar 27 · Tapasya SyalOhhhh it’s cuteeee! I love it. Very fancy schmancy pants for a little bakery. We got an assortment of treats and I got a coffee, a caramel latte with 2 shots and guess what?! It tastes like the coffee in Seattle! By far the best cup of coffee I’ve had in North Carolina so far. This is a new favorite spot for sure. My only little complaint, for this amount of money, the staff needs to ask if you want any of your items heated up. We ate cookies and a dill scone and a few bites of our blueberry scone, all would have been better heated up. Next time I’ll ask.3 months later update- still love it! Wish the employees didn't seem like they hate being here...but the coffee is perfect!
