Introduction / Overview

For California residents in the South Bay, La Patisserie Bakery in Cupertino offers a sophisticated, European-inspired baking experience right in the heart of Silicon Valley. Established in 1986 and operating as a cherished, locally owned, and women-owned small business, La Patisserie lives up to its French name, meaning "Pastry Shop." It successfully blends the artistry of a traditional patisserie with the functionality of a modern cafe, specializing in an extensive array of freshly baked goods.

This establishment is recognized for its high-quality, artisanal approach, pleasing to both the eye and the palate. While the external appearance might be that of a standard bakery, the interior showcases a wealth of different cakes, pastries, cookies, and individual desserts that reveal the business's dedication to detailed craftsmanship. They cater not only to the daily customer seeking a morning coffee and breakfast pastry but also operate as a full-service specialty bakery—from a cookie shop and cupcake shop to a high-end wedding bakery. This versatility, coupled with their focus on special occasion and custom orders, makes them a go-to destination for celebrating life's biggest milestones in the Bay Area.

Their menu reflects a French/Persian style, drawing on various European elements, and boasts signature items that have earned fierce local loyalty, such as the famous Burnt Almond Cake. Despite one customer note about certain mini cakes being too sweet or having a 'weird texture,' the overall consensus, particularly for their specialty and custom cakes like the layered chocolate and raspberry cake, is overwhelmingly positive, cementing its status as a foundational piece of Cupertino’s culinary landscape.

I saw their cakes online and they looked really good. So for my birthday I ordered one. So on the day we drove out to pick it up. This looks like a standard bakery from the outside. Same on the inside. While waiting we had a chance to look around at the many different cakes and pastries. On our turn the lady asked if she could help us. She quickly returned with the cake . I had ordered a chocolate and raspberry cake. The inside of the cake is a layer of fudge,a layer of raspberry and a layer of chocolate cake. It's covered in a thick chocolate fondant. Truly a chocolate lovers dream.

Way too sweet. Mini cakes are not fluffy, but are dense and have weird gelatin texture.Saving grace was the lemon biscotti cheese cake which was okay.Do not recommend the Individual Chocolate Truffle and Cafe Vienna

We have had our daughter's custom birthday cakes made here for the past four years! Not only does the cake always come out beautiful but the cake tastes so good! And communication with them is professional and easy. Parents are always asking me where I get my cakes made and I happily tell them!

I bought a cheesecake on 5/21/25. The strawberry on top didn’t look fresh, but I was okay with that. When I took it off, I thought I saw chocolate powder—but it turned out to be dirt. Lost my appetite.
