About and visit notes

In the vibrant and bustling heart of Flushing, Queens, where a world of culinary delights awaits at every turn, Latin Bakery stands as a long-standing fixture on Main Street. For New Yorkers, especially those in this diverse neighborhood, a local bakery often serves as a comforting taste of home or a gateway to new culinary experiences. Latin Bakery is known for bringing the flavors of Latin American cuisine to the Flushing community, offering a menu that extends beyond traditional baked goods to include a variety of hot dishes. This unique combination makes it a popular destination for residents seeking a quick lunch, a satisfying dinner, or a sweet treat. Its presence on one of the neighborhood's most iconic streets means it is a well-known establishment with a history of serving the local populace, contributing to the rich tapestry of food options that define Flushing.

The experience at Latin Bakery is often described as a mix of positive and challenging elements, a testament to the real-world dynamics of a popular, high-traffic establishment. The reviews from real customers highlight some of the key aspects of the dining experience. For instance, the "baked chicken" is noted as being "tender" and "good," and the "mondongo soup had good flavor." This suggests that the quality of the food, particularly some of the main dishes, is a definite draw. However, some reviews also mention areas where the service could be improved, such as long waits and staffing issues. One customer noted a long line and a process where you "have to order your food at the front before you sit down." Another review mentions the "service is terrible" and that staff "take forever to take your order." Despite these criticisms, the fact that people continue to visit and review the establishment indicates its enduring appeal and a customer base that finds the food itself to be worth the wait. The bakery's longevity on Main Street is proof that it has a solid foundation of flavorful food that keeps people coming back.

Latin Bakery is located at 41-41 Main St, Flushing, NY 11355, USA. This is a highly sought-after address in one of the most prominent commercial areas of Queens. The location on Main Street is a major advantage, as it is a central hub for shopping, dining, and transportation in Flushing. For locals, accessibility is paramount, and this address makes it incredibly easy to visit.

The area is a major transit nexus. The Flushing-Main Street subway station, which serves the 7 train, is just a short walk away. This train provides a direct link to Midtown Manhattan, making the bakery a convenient stop for commuters on their way to or from work. Additionally, the Flushing-Main Street bus terminal is one of the busiest in the city, with dozens of bus lines serving various parts of Queens and Nassau County. This extensive public transportation network ensures that residents from all over the borough can easily access the bakery. For those who choose to drive, finding parking in this dense and bustling area can be challenging, but there are municipal parking garages nearby, as is common in major commercial districts. The prime location on Main Street is a double-edged sword, attracting a large number of customers but also leading to the long lines mentioned in reviews. This foot traffic, however, is a clear indicator of the bakery's popularity and central role in the Flushing community.

The line here is long! You have to order your food at the front before you sit down. There’s no one to take your order at the table. The mondongo soup had good flavor but wasn’t cooked long enough and was chewy. The baked chicken was tender, and was good. The potato salad was ok. The empanadas were 6/10. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t anything to rave about. Overall the food wasn’t bad could be better and the service needs adjustments.

The food taste is good, however the portions and prices are not good at all. The meat in the soup is tiny, barely any so basically it’s a vegetable soup for almost $20? Also the service is terrible, the staff has a bad attitude and they take forever to take your order with only a few people in line. Be prepared to wait a long, long time. I waited more than 20mins to order empanadas, they took so long to take my order, they all sold out. Please better your staff’s training and waiting time for customers.

Totally recommended, the food with the flavor of Colombia, the waitresses very attentive and friendly. In this restaurant they take your order for minimum of US$10, and they don't charge you for the delivery, just good tip for the guy😉👍🏽

Have not visited this bakery since maybe 2007. The line is incredibly long but they have three people working the counter which baffled me. It looks like they are all confused and just lost. Place looks like it got refreshed. Placed an order and they got it wrong. Someone needs to step in and either manage or train the workers better its not the personnels fault. This place is a money makers and they should invest in keeping it fast and efficient. Finally got my food, beans were cold, arepa with was excellent, amojabana were ok. Everything else was pretty good. Not a bad place but they need to polish up.
