Got a steak sandwich and it was amazing. Got it with everything. You taste garlic with every bite. Not overpowering either. I would come back. I ate it so fast forgot to take a picture.

About and visit notes
For residents of New Britain and the surrounding Connecticut area, Pan Del Cielo Bakery is a local gem that offers a taste of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine right in the neighborhood. As its name, "Bread from Heaven," suggests, this bakery is a destination for freshly baked bread and a variety of delicious food items that have earned it a loyal following. It's the kind of place where locals go for a satisfying meal that is both comforting and full of flavor, whether they are looking for a hearty breakfast to start the day or a delicious sandwich for lunch.
The core of Pan Del Cielo Bakery's appeal lies in its menu, which features a strong focus on high-quality sandwiches served on traditional Puerto Rican bread. A customer review highlighted the "amazing" steak sandwich, noting the perfect balance of flavors, especially the garlic that "wasn't overpowering." This attention to detail and ability to create a flavorful experience is what makes the food stand out. The bakery is also known for its "pan sobao" and "pan de agua," two types of bread that are staples of Puerto Rican cuisine and serve as the foundation for their popular sandwiches. These fresh-baked breads provide a unique and authentic touch that sets the bakery apart from other sandwich shops in the area.
While the food is consistently praised, some customer feedback has pointed to areas for improvement, particularly regarding pricing and atmosphere. One reviewer found the price for two sandwiches, a coffee, and a soda to be on the higher side, though the quality of the food often justifies the cost for many patrons. Another comment about the seating suggests that while the food is a big draw, the in-store dining experience could be enhanced. However, for a business that operates as a bakery and a grab-and-go sandwich spot, the focus is often on the quality of the food for takeaway, which is where Pan Del Cielo truly shines.
Despite these minor criticisms, the bakery's reputation for its delicious food remains strong. Its commitment to providing a taste of Puerto Rican culture through its sandwiches and baked goods is a major draw for the local community. The menu is a delightful mix of options, from the savory steak and pastrami sandwiches to the tempting pastries. This variety ensures that whether a customer is in the mood for a hearty meal or a sweet treat, they will find something to love at Pan Del Cielo. The bakery’s success is a testament to its ability to cater to both the local Hispanic community and new customers eager to explore authentic flavors.
Ultimately, Pan Del Cielo Bakery has earned its place as a valued part of the New Britain food scene. It’s a place that is cherished for its quality food, with a menu that is rich in traditional flavors. For anyone in Connecticut looking for an authentic and delicious sandwich, especially one served on a fresh pan sobao, Pan Del Cielo is a must-visit destination that promises a satisfying and flavorful experience.

Oct 30 · Chocky_1Sandwich de pernil estaba Bien Malo , pernil no era fresco estaba recalentao en El grill.Pork shoulder sandwich was terrible the meat was few days cooked I ask her if it was fresh she lye to me. Dec 30 · JCThe employee seemed like she didn't want to take my order. They do no accept SNAP, as most bakeries do. The pastry must have been made early and not tossed out. Open on Sunday and close to home. Sandwiches were good. Definitely a little pricey. $23 for 2 sandwiches and 2 canned sodas with 1 pastry.
