Went here to grab a couple of Tortas. It was an interesting experience. The place was dead. The shelves on the right were wooden and would have made Old Mother Hubbard look twice for how bare they were. The cashier was on her phone at prep table, about 20 feet from the front counter. We stood around waiting for her to come to the front for about two minutes before I politely called out to her.The cashier looked at us like we were somewhere we didn't belong. I asked about the Tortas and she brought out the menu, then asked me in Spanish if I wanted the Tortas Mexicanas. In Spanish I answered, yes, then proceeded to ask if they only come in beef or if chicken is an option. She didn't respond and there was an awkward pause.Knowing our area has many multi-lingual people, and I could have misheard her initially, I then asked if she needed me to speak English in English, Spanish in Spanish, Portuguese in Portuguese, French in French... And she quickly came back and interrupted saying Spanish is good.We ordered two Tortas with no mayonnaise. We received them. The flavor was intense and delicious, albeit a bit salty. The bun was perfect, just how I remember them being back in Arizona. The only complaint we could make is the meat was as tough as jerky, but a pair of kitchen shears fixed that problem. Otherwise, the food was a bit pricey at $11 a pop. That said, don't go here if you can't speak Spanish - and I don't mean the Castilian you learned in High School. And be prepared for an interesting experience.

What is Worth Choosing
For a first-time visitor in Maryland, or a long-time local looking for the best Pan Lourdes has to offer, a few dishes truly stand out as being worth the choice:
If your primary goal is to experience the "bakery" part of Pan Lourdes, make sure to select a few pieces of their freshly baked Pan Dulce. The Concha ($2.50) is a classic Mexican sweet bread that is soft, fluffy, and a perfect complement to a cup of Cafe ($2.75). For a fruit-filled option, the Pastelito De Piña ($3.00) offers a delightful sweetness. These are excellent choices for a mid-day snack or a treat to share at home.
If you are looking for a savory, full meal that represents the Central American side of the menu, you have two excellent choices:
The Desayuno Catracho ($14.99) is highly recommended for anyone who loves a big, satisfying breakfast or brunch. This Honduran specialty is a combination of all the great breakfast elements, including eggs, plantains, sausage, and beans—a true cultural food experience.
Alternatively, trying the Pupusas is essential. At $3.25 each, they are an accessible and delicious way to sample Salvadoran cuisine. The Revueltas (beans, cheese, and pork combination) and the Queso Con Loroco (cheese and Salvadoran flower bud) are the traditional favorites and showcase the mastery of the staff in preparing this iconic dish. Pair a pupusa with a natural drink like Horchata ($3.50) for an authentic and refreshing experience.
