For residents and visitors in La Puente, California, seeking a unique combination of authentic Mexican culinary traditions and casual American favorites, Panadería Y Pizzeria La Mexicana stands out as a distinctive local business. More than just a traditional Bakery, this establishment successfully merges two concepts—a classic Mexican “panadería” serving a delicious range of pan dulce and savory breads, with a casual Pizza restaurant. Located conveniently in Los Angeles County, this dual-offering spot caters perfectly to the diverse tastes and busy schedules of the California consumer.

The core identity of Panadería Y Pizzeria La Mexicana lies in its commitment to fresh, quality baked goods. Customers often recommend visiting in the morning when the selection of Mexican sweet breads, or pan dulce, is at its freshest. These savory bolillos are cited by regulars as irresistible, providing a perfect, hearty way to start the day.

The addition of a Pizza restaurant component offers a convenient and appealing contrast, providing a quick lunch or dinner option alongside their baked goods and desserts like the well-regarded Tres Leches cake. This versatility makes Panadería Y Pizzeria La Mexicana an efficient, one-stop shop for everything from a quick Breakfast pastry and Coffee to a full family meal. The business is mindful of customer convenience, offering Takeout service and operating with modern accessibility features and payment methods, including support for SNAP/EBT, which is a valuable service to the local community in the 91744 zip code. Good little local bakery and pizzeria in the area. Best to go in the morning when everything is fresh, not a huge selection but the basic Mexican sweet breads. The pizza is pretty good and deserts. A little pricey compared to most bakeries. They do have fresh bolillos with cream cheese, bolillos with cheese and beans, bolillos with cheese jalapeño and chorizo. This is normally what I come to get and occasionally the concha’s. A little pricey compared to other bakeries. Tres leches cake is good. Need to try other things but I’m a creature of habit. Over all I’d say 4/5 because the options are limited and it’s a little pricey.

I asked for one of those vintage cakes for my kid for her birthday, and I got this. I literally wouldn't even center the name for me when I asked. I saw some videos and photos on Yelp of their cakes, and they look nothing like what is available. I should have known better, but I thought it would be cool to try a local spot. :(

Best bread in all of the San Gabriel Family. Freshly baked. Consistent taste. Prices are high but the bread is worth it.

Exactly what I was looking for. Was hoping the bolillios with chorizo would have potatoes or eggs in them. But they were still delicious and fresh. Next time we'll try the tamales.

They have so much pan dulce to choose from, the food is great and the best part is the atole and abena they have. Great place!
