Great bakery with fresh sourdough and delicious desserts! The coffee was excellent, and they have great options for both breakfast and lunch. The place itself is very cute, super clean, and the service was amazing, everyone working there was incredibly nice and welcoming.Just a heads-up, the wait time on weekends can be long. I visited on a Sunday during peak breakfast hours and had to wait about 45 minutes. That said, they had a sign clearly displaying the expected wait time, which I really appreciated. We had cappuccinos, the egg and bacon sandwich, and a brookie, everything was fresh and really tasty. Definitely worth the visit!

When considering where to spend your breakfast or lunch dollars in St. Petersburg, The Sourdough Co offers an undeniable value proposition based on its commitment to its namesake product. For the "Millennial" generation and beyond who have embraced the quality and health benefits of genuine sourdough, this bakery is an absolute essential. The process of naturally leavening the dough—using simple, high-quality ingredients (flour, water, salt)—creates a depth of flavor and texture that mass-produced bread simply cannot match, a fact celebrated by customers who describe the bread as "Fresh. Amazing. OPTIONS!"
Choosing The Sourdough Co means selecting a place where every element of the menu, from a basic Egg And Cheese Sandwich ($8.80) to a complex Flamin' Hot Hummus Wrap ($13.20), is elevated by the incredible foundation of fresh-baked sourdough. Moreover, the shop’s diverse capabilities—functioning equally well as a source for artisan loaves, a quick-stop Cafe for a unique Iced Mocha Latte, or a hearty Lunch restaurant for soup served in a Bread Bowl—make it a versatile destination for any time of day.
While the popularity of this Central Avenue spot means there can sometimes be a wait, especially during peak weekend brunch hours, the business is proactive, even posting wait times to manage expectations. The fact that customers are willing to wait up to 45 minutes on a busy Sunday for an egg and bacon sandwich and a cappuccino is a testament to the freshness and superior taste that The Sourdough Co consistently delivers. By supporting this establishment, you are not just buying a meal; you are supporting a dedicated, family-like, Women-owned and Latino-owned local business that truly embodies the vibrant, quality-focused spirit of St. Petersburg's EDGE District.

Like every other Millennial i have entered my sourdough era. I have starter at home (Frodough) and have been making sourdough loaves like a madwoman for months. My sister says to me “hey we have a sourdough place!” And my response was - SAY LESS. Thus we came to the Sourdough Co. It’s adorable. The atmosphere was clean and bright, with lots of seating. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The bread. Fresh. Amazing. OPTIONS! I could have easily dropped some serious cash on the amount of unique loaves there were but alas I only purchased a Blueberry Lemon loaf, a sourdough chocolate chip cookie and a turkey sandwich.I wish all the future success to this little bread shop. 🩷 🍞
Jun 18 · Lauren ReberOne of the laziest egg and cheese sandwiches I’ve ever had from a bakery or café. The egg was cold—clearly cooked long before we arrived—and topped with equally cold cheese, making for a very underwhelming experience. The bread, to be fair, was excellent but man, take pride in what you do - even if it is cooking and assembling an egg sandwich. Also, lots of staff standing around and chatting when there were multiple tables needing bussing and wiping down. We won’t be back. Also, no croissants? Come on…
May 20 · N. JordanAll around a good place for a cheap coffee and a bite to eat. Thay have plenty of pastry options, as well as a good sandwich selection. A good central place to grab a bite, or cup of coffee throughout the day.
May 22 · Brock GradyFirst visit. Bought a loaf of cheddar jalapeno. The cashier was kind enough to split it so my friend and I could each take half home. It made the best avocado toast and grilled cheese sandwich! Will definitely buy again.
