We visited the Village Bakery & Cafe for lunch and had the most pleasant experience. The atmosphere was cozy with that small town feel. The menu variety was absolutely impressive. We ordered the Fried Green Tomato Club with Pimento Cheese and the Monte Cristo Sandwich, which was the best decision. They also have a bakery attached where we ordered a couple of pastries to-go. Their coffee & specialty coffee menu was diverse, and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Years have come and gone and the Village Bakery and Cafe has remained a pillar of commerce on the square in Pendleton. Both breakfast and lunch are great with many options. I challenge anyone to find a better fresh baked sourdough in the area.A very thankful shout out to Maddie P. for taking care of us for breakfast and treating my daughter with courtesy, respect, and genuine kindness. For the hungriest of the hungry, come here for Sunday brunch. If you leave hungry it’s 100% your own doing. The shrimp and grits are off the charts.

Literally the BEST lunch I ever had. The food was fresh and cooked/prepared perfectly. Down to every last detail. The pasta salad was homemade, the quiche was excellent and not microwaved, the cole slaw was so tasty, ugh I could go on and on. Really enjoyable lunch driving through town not knowing where to eat lunch and we took a chance on this place. It did NOT disappoint. Plus our waitress Rama was so friendly and made everything perfect. We will find a way back here since we live 2 hours away but WE WILL BE BACK!

It was our first visit to The Village Bakery and Cafe in downtown Pendleton, SC. We enjoyed the fresh options and the generous portions. Our waitress was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed 2 sandwich plates with sides and a latte, all for under $30!! We'll definitely return soon.
