Cheesecake is a sweet dessert that has many different versions of it throughout the world. It consists of a main layer of a mixture of soft, fresh cream cheese, eggs, and sugar. At Vilma's Bakery we sell slices of plain cheesecake, strawberry filling or dulce de leche filling. We also sell the cheesecake as an 8 inch pie or 10 inch pie and you can ask for us to add any filling flavor to it!

Bread pudding is a traditional Dominican dish. With a short list of ingredients, it is easy to make, and full of flavors. We use our own fresh bread to make our bread pudding! It is soft and it has a unique taste.

These are our famous Elephant Ear cookies, it is a French pastry in a palm leaf shape or elephant ear shape. They are made from puff pastry, we use a dough similar to the dough used for croissant, but without the yeast. Puff pastry is made with alternating layers of dough and folded over to create possibly hundreds of flaky layers. The puff pastry is rolled out, coated with sugar, and then the two sides are rolled up together so that they meet in the middle, giving the pastry it’s shape.

Meringue is a light, airy, sweet, chewy and soft with a crisp exterior dessert. Meringue is made with whipped egg whites and sugar.

It’s called leche cortada (Curdled milk) because as you add the lemon juice to the hot fresh milk, it begins to curdle. We add cinnamon and raisins to give it extra flavor. Rocano is our version of the Regelach, a filled pastry product originating in the Jewish community. Our Rocano are made in the form of a crescent by rolling a triangle of dough around a Guava filling. We also fill it with raisins, cinnamon, and brown sugar. In the Dominican Republic, Arepa is a dense, unleavened cornmeal and coconut cake. Arepa is a popular dish, and loved by all because of its simplicity in ingredients and how easy it is to make. They date back to sixteenth century from the Andulucia region of Spain. At Vilma’s bakery we have the traditional Mantecado Butter Cookies with chocolate chips, sprinkles, cherry filling or just enjoy it plain. Mil Hojas translates to thousand layer cake, because of all of the layers in this dessert. Mil Hojas are a dessert made with stacked layers of puff pastry, filled with dulce de leche; a creamy mix of condensed milk, sugar, and vanilla. Have you ever tasted majarete?? Majarete is one of the most cherished and delicious desserts in the Caribbean. This traditional, dessert comes from the Dominican Republic where home cooks famously transform corn, coconut milk, whole milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and cornstarch into a thick, silky-smooth pudding. Chill the corn pudding until cold, and garnish with ground cinnamon.

Coconut Pineapple cake is a delicious slice of paradise. It is a moist coconut cake with pineapple filling. Our telera is a 16-inch-long egg-based bread. its texture is similar to that of challah bread; when sliced, the spherical inner layers of this buttery bread are revealed

Pan sobao is baguette-shaped bread that is light, airy, and just a little sweeter than most—it’s a bit like French Bread, but with a softer crust.
