Introduction / Overview

For Twin Cities residents seeking a unique twist on two popular treats, Bober Tea & Mochi Dough in Eden Prairie offers an irresistible fusion. Located inside the vibrant Asia Mall, this shop is not your typical neighborhood doughnut shop, but rather a dedicated destination that excels in two distinct, high-demand product lines: premium, customizable bubble tea and Japanese-inspired mochi doughnuts.

The core of the experience revolves around the "Mochi Dough" line. These are not the familiar yeast or cake doughnuts but a delightful confection made from rice flour, giving them a signature "pon de ring" shape (often seen as connected, chewy balls) and an incredibly bouncy, airy, and chewy texture. This unique, springy interior with a slightly crispy exterior is what makes them a standout dessert in the Minnesota food scene. Flavors rotate frequently, keeping the selection exciting for regular visitors.

Complementing the chewy treats is the "Bober Tea" menu, which offers an extensive, high-quality selection of bubble, milk, and fruit teas. The emphasis here is on customizable sweetness and high-grade ingredients, including ceremonial-grade Matcha and unique Taiwanese tea leaves. Whether you are a lifelong fan of traditional Boba or a newcomer curious about the creamy "Chizu" series (topped with savory cream cheese foam), Bober Tea & Mochi Dough provides a refreshing, trendy, and high-quality stop for a sweet indulgence or a casual snack in the heart of Eden Prairie. Its location within the Asia Mall makes it a perfect punctuation mark to a day of international shopping and dining.

Features / Highlights

What is Worth Choosing

Bober Tea & Mochi Dough in Eden Prairie is absolutely worth choosing for Minnesota locals looking for a destination that offers something truly different from the standard coffee and doughnut scene. What makes this establishment stand out is its dual specialty: the incredibly satisfying, textural contrast of the mochi doughnuts and the rich complexity of their premium bubble tea.

If you are tired of traditional, heavy doughnuts, the Mochi Dough line's airy, chewy texture is a revelation and a must-try. Furthermore, for serious bubble tea enthusiasts, the quality of the tea bases, the richness of the Rich Milk Lattes (like Taro Latte and Mung Bean Pandan Latte), and the decadent Brown Sugar series are often cited as some of the best in the Twin Cities metro area. The ability to customize sweetness levels ensures that your beverage is prepared exactly to your taste.

While some reviews suggest a need for careful attention to preparation details (such as the amount of ice), the consensus is that the overall product quality and the rotation of unique flavors in both the mochi doughnuts and the tea offerings secure its spot as a beloved, innovative dessert and drink shop. As a cornerstone of the vibrant Asia Mall, choosing Bober Tea & Mochi Dough makes for a perfect, casual, and highly rewarding culinary detour.

I've always ordered Boba teas here but never have ordered it without ice. Well, I finally did, and it turns out that they give you less content when you don't add ice. Now, if you think about it, they make more profit for not adding ice, and when you take about an inch of the liquid off from the top, they make even more profit (saving ice and liquid)! In other words, they make more money when you don't add ice! What they really should do is fill it to the top, and then their pricey Boba tea would be justified, with or without ice. It's already calculated in the price. I'm a Boba tea critic and do try many places, so I will recommend a place that is good, not too pricey, and also will fill it to the rim without ice.9/7/2025 update:Today I went back here to order milk teas. The worker made a mistake putting both orders with no ice but the notes specifically said one with no ice and one with ice. Anyway, the bigger mistake was the second worker took over and when she added ice, she took a new cup and scoop a bunch of ice and filled it to half the cup, then poured in the milk tea from the original cup to the new cup. Unfortunately, the ice was too much so she had to dump out the extra teas and throw it away instead of scooping out the excessive ice! That's a waste and not the right way. The right thing to do was to pour the tea to the new cup then add ice enough to reach the top of the cup. Regrettably, I asked to add ice but what I got in the end was less tea than I originally got when no ice was added. I recommend anybody reading this review to reconsider finding a different Boba tea, for this particular tea shop, though the only choice in the Asian Mall in Eden Prairie, you really got no choice but to tolerate their bad service. Not recommended.

Love that they rotate their flavors frequently. Their bubble and milk teas are some of the best I've had in MN and they were not overly sweet which is a plus. Service is fast and friendly. Be careful of the donut boxes, as the little vent holes do not get entirely punched out and you may inadvertently eat the cardboard.

Too much ice for the price, but good donuts. $8 for a large pineapple green tea with lychee jelly. $3 for a mochi donut. No ice or sugar customizations.I go here regularly when I visit Asia Mall. The donuts, such as black sesame and taro, are worth it when the wait is short.

This might be some of the best boba I’ve ever had. The best part? I ordered the Supreme Grapefruit Green Tea with Passion Fruit Popping Bobas and it was amazing. I thought it’d be more tart but it was perfect. I’m looking forward to stopping by again. Line moved pretty quickly too! The worst part? This wasn’t an issue for me but might be for others; keep in mind you have to order through the kiosk and then you go and pick up your orders at the counter. I saw a few struggling with this but we didn’t find it hard to use the screen.

Waited in line for about 30 minutes total for one drink - 20 minutes for a kiosk to open and 10 for the drink. The customers at the kiosks take a lot of time and the drinks take a bit too. No complaints as it was a busy Saturday afternoon. However, extremely disappointed in the lack of quality/quantity. there were no “ice” options which in my experience, only come from boba shops with stingy portions (Tiger Sugar for ex). My drink was at least 60% ice and finished within 2 minutes. The amount of pearls in my drink was VERY stingy. Needless to say, I will not be back. 30 minutes for one overpriced boba ($9.65) was a rip off. Only good thing was the flavor. I hope this establishment can improve
