They are pretty nice and I often go to them. The reason for the three stars is because they are pretty expensive and they cheap out on simple things. For example, their chocolate croissant is good, but it's supposed to be a "chocolate" croissant and it barley has any chocolate. I pay a premium for the chocolate and I get bits and pieces?? If you are going to charge a premium, why wouldn't you make it worth that expense?

As a third-generation, family-owned business, Buttercooky Bakery holds a special place in the hearts of many locals. It's a place where tradition and a commitment to baking are at the forefront. While it's a bustling and popular spot, as indicated by its busy storefronts, the customer experience can be a mixed bag. This is a common reality for many businesses that serve a high volume of customers. It's important to look at the full picture—the glowing praise for certain items and the constructive criticism for others—to understand the bakery's role in the community.
Customer feedback is a crucial part of a business's story. Some patrons have a deep appreciation for the bakery, calling it their "go-to" for special occasions and a "consistent winner" for certain items like the lobstertail pastries. Others, however, have pointed out inconsistencies in quality and value. For example, one review notes a chocolate croissant with very little chocolate, questioning the high price for a product that doesn't meet the expectation. Another review mentions disappointment with the taste of a tiramisu and coffee, suggesting a need for more training. These reviews, while critical, provide valuable insights for potential customers, allowing them to make informed choices.
This range of experiences is typical for a business with a long history and a broad customer base. It doesn't tell a simple story, but rather a complex one of a bakery trying to maintain its standards while serving a large and diverse clientele. I wish I could say something nice! This bakery shop was quite busy! Feel sorry for those people who come to visit this shop. They really deserve better food. Coffee wasn’t good! Tiramisu tasted awful! More training needed urgently for whoever is making those food!
Feb 12 · Grace Bian3.5No more savory food when we got there around 4:15pm. Too bad, my mom was missing their quiche. Our group ended up getting a few dessert pieces and sharing them, with coffees and teas. Our picks were the Earl Gray eclair and plain cheesecake - we did like them- didn’t find them too sweet. So much to choose from but prices are not labeled so have to ask for each item. They still call out when order is ready. Place is clean and modern. Restroom available.3.5
Nov 2 · K VCOrdered a strawberry shortcake for a wedding that turned out incredibly beautiful and delicious. They Had some trouble finding the cake because they sent me the wrong order number by email but they were able to find it and everything worked out great.
Jun 16 · Lorenzo P.Elegant & upscale bakery 🥇🥇Buttercooky has many high caliber offerings from donuts, croissants, tarts, & sandwiches. How to decide when so many items look so very delicious?I settled on a broccoli egg croissant tart 👍👍. Rich & decadent. I wanted another…Awesome venue with comfortable leather bench seats. Plenty of sunlight radiating through. I can easily sit here for an hour.Very friendly staff. Nice setup with complimentary self service lemon water. It’s no wonder they have been in business since 1962. My only gripe is I did not see a price list or tags for the pastries. Did I overlook it?
