What is Worth Choosing

When visiting Clark Street Bakery, the breadth of high-quality options can be overwhelming, but a few key items consistently rise to the top as essential California experiences.

For a first-time visitor, the absolute non-negotiable choice is the Swedish Cardamom Bun. This pastry is famous for a reason; its delicate texture and warm, aromatic cardamom spice are frequently cited in glowing reviews and are deemed "totally worth the hour drive." It is the perfect pairing for their artisan coffee, particularly the unique Orange Cardamom Coffee if available, which plays off the bun's distinctive flavor.

Savory lovers must try the Breakfast Burrito. In a city famous for breakfast burritos, this one stands out as a genuine masterpiece, praised as the 'best ever' by customers. Alternatively, for a classic LA brunch item elevated by quality ingredients, the Lox Bagel made with their in-house bagel and superior toppings is a decadent choice.

Finally, for home consumption, you must take home a loaf of the foundation upon which the bakery is built: the Seeded Sourdough or Country Sourdough. These loaves showcase the bakery's mastery of the craft, providing a crusty, flavorful, and substantial bread that will enhance any California home kitchen. Don't forget to grab some Beurre De Baratte and perhaps some Raspberry Jam from the Larder to complete the artisan experience. Clark Street Bakery is an investment in quality that Angelenos agree is truly worth making.

Absolutely love this place for their pastries and bread alone. My favorite pastry is the Swedish cardamom bun, and their sourdough bread is fantastic as well. When I want something savory I go for their simple everything bagel that gets the job done. I don’t normally get the coffee here, as the times I’ve been there they only seem to have drip. The staff is also always very friendly. I really like this place for the vibes. Very simple straight forward cafe, bakery, and unpretentious vibes, which can be a rarity here in LA.

A local person recommended it, specifically the cardamom bun. I was so fortunate to get the last one and it was totally worth the hour drive! Definitely hoping I get the opportunity to come back. That breakfast burrito was also the best one I have EVER had!I also ordered the matcha and got it with almond milk. Didn't ask for sweetener, and I don't think it comes with any which I think is great! Too many places have sugar already in the mix. Next time I want to try the orange cardamom coffee!

First time here, parking can be tricky depending on the day you go, seating inside and outside. Dog friendly, large menus, fresh ingredients, lots of options, a little pricey but you’re getting good quality food, decent portions. Friendly staff. Would recommend just for the atmosphere alone. Would return.

The pastries as top quality. You can get a glimpse of them making the bread off to the side, I love an open kitchen. There is limited space inside, about 3 tables, but the patio has a lot more seating available. Be prepared for a long line on weekend mornings.

I love their loaf of bread too but it takes me 4ever to finish and its gets really hard, but thats the life of a single person 🥲. Get there early bc the lines is so long and they'll be no seating available.
