I had a great iced cold brew! Friendly staff. Beautiful spot at the marina and across the street from the Palace of Fine Arts. There is outdoor seating at the shop and benches in the park where you can enjoy your drink or donut.

About and visit notes
Introduction / Overview: Dynamo Donut + Coffee – Crafting Culinary Doughnut Excellence in the Golden State
In a city celebrated for its pioneering culinary scene, Dynamo Donut + Coffee stands out as an original artisan doughnut shop, elevating the humble fried dough to a gourmet experience. Established in San Francisco by pastry chef Sara Spearin in 2008, Dynamo has built its reputation on a commitment to complex flavor profiles, high-quality ingredients, and creative daily specials. Unlike traditional doughnut shops, Dynamo integrates techniques and flavor pairings one might expect from fine dining or artisanal bakeries, a reflection of Spearin's background in top San Francisco kitchens. This dedication to craft results in doughnuts that are praised for being moist, soft, and remarkably not overly sweet—a common critique of mass-produced treats.
Dynamo Donut + Coffee operates two main locations, with the kiosk at 110 Yacht Road serving as a beloved stop in the beautiful Marina District. This particular spot captures the quintessential San Francisco charm, offering not just a delicious snack but a memorable experience right by the waterfront. It’s more than just a quick stop; it’s a destination for locals and visitors seeking a handcrafted treat and a perfect cup of coffee while enjoying one of the city's most scenic spots. The shop’s philosophy centers on keeping its offerings fresh, utilizing seasonal, local, and organic ingredients whenever possible to ensure a rotating and exciting menu that continually surprises and delights its customer base.
This commitment extends beyond flavor, encompassing the needs of a diverse Californian clientele. Dynamo is highly regarded for its forward-thinking inclusion of both vegan and wheat-free options, ensuring that almost everyone can indulge in their expertly crafted confections. From the moment you approach the kiosk, the casual, friendly atmosphere signals a welcoming spot perfect for a quick visit or a leisurely moment of indulgence. It truly embodies the spirit of local, artisanal food culture that San Francisco is famous for.
Location and Accessibility: The Marina Kiosk Experience

Its location is a major draw, placing it directly across the street from the architectural marvel of the Palace of Fine Arts and near the picturesque Crissy Field. Customers rave about the "viewtiful" and "lovely location," making it a popular reward spot after a run, swim, or simply a leisurely walk along the marina.
The kiosk’s positioning by the water provides a gorgeous backdrop, often including views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, enhancing the overall experience from a simple coffee run to a mini-outing. The atmosphere is casual and designed for a quick, enjoyable visit. Accessibility is another strong point, as the location is noted to be wheelchair accessible. The Maple Glazed Bacon Apple donut is a legendary choice that perfectly showcases the shop's ability to blend savory and sweet. Shout-out to Trevor and Mylene for the exceptional coffee and donuts. Really needed those after paddling around Alcatraz with my team on the outrigger canoe. I highly recommend the berry coffee donut!
Aug 2 · Yingzi Sakura HuangThe Americano's are inconsistent. Often they are pretty bad, and sometimes I get lucky and they are good. I think some of the (new) workers aren't trained properly or don't care? Or they reuse the grounds? I tip well, so it's not me. View is unbeatable. Donuts yummy.
Sep 6 · JasBeeVery good food and donuts. I have not complained. I seldom ever walk the Marina front but this coffee is phenomenal. Dont skip it up. S/O to Alexa and the other Barista for their exemplary and selfless work.I'm not sure how long it will be here, it will probably be another 5-10 years I think before it gets relocated, so don't pass it up.
Jul 14 · Michael J. CastineDefinitely a lot of interesting donut flavors and we tried 5 of them, but flavors were hit or miss in my opinion. The donuts are either cake-based or the usual fried donut type. I did not prefer the cake type, possibly the one we tried was a vegan one that could have something to do with it, but it had a weird texture. The usual fried donut ones were very chewy and delicious, although flavors themselves were hit or miss. The passionfruit chocolate was my favorite, if you’re a passionfruit lover, it is super true to flavor and I would get it again. The strawberry one was also fairly flavorful. I would stay away from the pineapple, it was very strange and did not taste like pineapple. The carrot cake one was the one that was like a cake, the flavor was good, but the cake itself was weirdly textured. The Maple apple bacon was also tasty as others have noted. As others have no date, the barista was not very friendly, but was not rude either, just did not have a smile and did not seem to particularly enjoy her job. That did not deter us, though, as her service was prompt and efficient. The donut shop is the little hut right at one end of the marina green but there are a few small tables and chairs to sit on with a view of the bay so a nice spot overall.
