Introduction / Overview

For residents and visitors in Dover, Delaware, finding a local spot that seamlessly combines the comfort of a classic bagel shop with the fun of an ice cream parlor is a welcome discovery. Located conveniently on Greentree Drive, this establishment has positioned itself as a key destination for morning fuel, a satisfying lunch, and a sweet treat to cap off the day. It’s a unique hybrid business that serves the Delaware community by covering two distinct, highly desirable culinary categories: the essential breakfast staple and the delightful dessert.

Georgia Boy's Bagel Cafe is primarily recognized as a Bagel shop, meaning their core focus is on delivering fresh bagels, served with a variety of plain or flavored cream cheeses. However, they expand their appeal significantly by offering hearty Breakfast Sandwiches and Lunch Sandwiches, ensuring they are a relevant stop for any meal of the day. This dual focus is what makes Georgia Boy's a special part of the local Dover dining scene. Whether you are a Delaware commuter looking for a fast, fulfilling breakfast or a family searching for a sweet afternoon pick-me-up, the cafe aims to provide a reliable, local option. The business model is geared toward efficiency and convenience, recognizing that many patrons are making a quick visit but still expect quality food and friendly service, a commitment which is reflected in the positive mentions of "pleasant people working at the counter" found in customer feedback.

The business prioritizes accessibility, an essential factor for serving the entire Delaware community. Specifically, the location features a Wheelchair accessible entrance, ensuring that all patrons, regardless of mobility challenges, can enter and enjoy the cafe's offerings with dignity and ease. What is worth choosing

For a local Delaware resident, Georgia Boy's Bagel Cafe is worth choosing primarily for its dual-concept convenience and the inclusion of niche, regionally specific offerings. The ability to grab a full breakfast or lunch sandwich and then pick up dessert—be it a refreshing Milkshake or a scoop of Hand Dipped Ice Cream—in one quick stop is a significant time-saver and a major draw.

This attention to regional favorite ingredients demonstrates a commitment to providing a truly authentic and satisfying breakfast experience that many local users actively seek out.

However, it is vital for new patrons to note the mixed feedback provided by the community. While many praise the "pleasant people working at the counter" and find the sandwiches "pretty good," there are critical reviews regarding the consistency and preparation of the bagels themselves. As a local business, the quality and consistency of the primary product, the bagel, is an ongoing point of community discussion.

Therefore, the cafe is highly recommended for: 1) Those seeking a hearty breakfast or lunch sandwich (which generally receives positive notes), 2) Anyone craving Taylor Ham pork roll, or 3) Families looking for a casual, local spot to grab ice cream and a quick bite. By choosing Georgia Boy's, Delawareans are supporting a local business that tries to offer a unique, two-in-one experience, providing both morning staples and evening treats. It is a local establishment offering an extensive menu that caters to a wide range of needs, from a simple Fresh Cut Fruit Cup to a full Dozens order for the entire family.

Pleasant people working at the counter, the sandwiches are pretty good. They are by no means as good as a New York bagel, and some of the bagel sizing and shape is a little inconsistent. Two bagel egg cheese and meat sandwiches with 15% tip worked out to be $16.

This is the most raw, undercooked tasteless bagel I have ever eaten. The only flavor involved was the terrible, unfiltered delaware water that must’ve been involved in making the bread. I ordered an “everything” bagel that had at most, a third of the acceptable amount of seasoning required to properly flavor an everything bagel. The only redeeming element of the entire facility was its willingness to supply Taylor Ham pork roll.

First time visiting today, hours were wrong on google as it said they closed at 3 but it was actually closing at 2. Got there 20 mins before closing & got side eyes from employees when ordering my food. The fountain soda machine was out of order & even though they just mopped a large area on the floor looked dirty! My bagel was very bland so I added salt, pepper & mayo. I ordered an onion bagel sandwich with bacon egg & American cheese. I like that they had the bacon in the egg, the decor was cute & rustic. I let them know it was my first time, no one suggested anything nor offered to guide me through ordering anything so customer service I would say is mediocre. I will try it again someday since it’s close to my work & I want to try the French toast bagel & maybe one of their homemade cream cheeses!

The bagels were a little overcooked & hard. The presentation was okay. The shop itself though, could use more touching up, as it didn't smell very nice upon entering. Then right after experiencing that, to see the racks where the bagels were kept, have not been lined on the bottom, was very concerning. It's a nice shop: nice concept, and great location. Service is quite slow, so if you're in a hurry, you might not be happy. Quite sad that the shop's the way it is, because it can be so much better. There's just so much potential. It just needs more upkeep of the shop, in order for first time customers to want to come again, and want to recommend it to anyone. Giving it a three because of the staff's friendliness, and generous size of the drink container.
