Le French Tart offers a curated selection of authentic French pastries and baked goods, focusing on quality and traditional recipes. Their menu is a testament to the skill and passion of their bakers, and while the selection may be focused, each item is crafted with meticulous care. The services they offer are designed to provide a taste of France for every occasion, from a morning pastry to a larger celebratory treat. The prices are noted by customers to be quite reasonable, especially when compared to similar offerings in other major cities.

  • Artisanal Croissants: The bakery's most famous offering is its croissant, which has been lauded by customers as being "VERY GOOD" and a contender for the best in Brooklyn. It is a perfect example of a flaky, buttery, and expertly laminated pastry that serves as a benchmark for quality.
  • Pain au Chocolat and other Pastries: In addition to the classic croissant, they offer other traditional French pastries like the pain au chocolat. While one customer received this by mistake, it is a testament to the fact that they have a variety of high-quality options for those who enjoy classic French baked goods.
  • Tarts and Pies: A significant part of their menu consists of beautiful and appealing tarts and pies. These items are perfect for a dessert, a special occasion, or a simple treat. Customers have noted that these look very appealing and are a reason to return to the bakery.
  • Quiches: For those looking for a savory option, Le French Tart also offers quiches. These savory tarts provide a delicious alternative to their sweeter offerings and are made with the same attention to detail and quality ingredients.
  • Customer Service: While one review mentioned a disappointing experience, other customers have praised the staff for being "very attentive and friendly." The staff's willingness to stay open a little later to accommodate a customer highlights a commitment to providing good service.

Le French Tart stands out from other bakeries in New York City due to its unique combination of quality, authenticity, and a true neighborhood feel. These features are what have earned it a loyal following and a reputation for excellence, despite some minor service critiques.

  • Authentic French Baking: The bakery's dedication to traditional French recipes and techniques is its primary highlight. From the classic lamination process for the croissants to the careful construction of their tarts, every item is a genuine representation of French patisserie.
  • High-Quality Ingredients: The superior taste of the pastries is a direct result of using high-quality ingredients. Customers can taste the buttery richness of the croissants and the fresh flavors in the fillings of the tarts and quiches.
  • Reasonable Pricing: One customer review pointed out that the prices are "very reasonable or somewhat cheaper" than in other areas, making the high-quality products more accessible to a wider range of people.
  • Focus on a Curated Menu: Instead of offering an overwhelming number of options, Le French Tart focuses on a core menu of expertly made items. This specialization allows them to perfect each recipe and ensure consistency in quality.
  • Community-Oriented Vibe: The small, intimate setting and the dedication of the staff (as highlighted by a positive customer review) create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This makes it feel less like a large commercial establishment and more like a cherished neighborhood spot.

Very disappointing, especially after seeing so many great reviews. The staff seemed more focused on chatting with each other than actually helping customers, which was pretty frustrating. I asked for a croissant but was given a pain au chocolat instead, and I only realized it after walking away. At that point, I didn’t want to waste time going back. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to the hype, and the service definitely needs improvement.

I am a croissant addict. Wherever I go, always like to “try” every croissant if possible. There was a sign outside of the bakery claiming they had the best croissant in Brooklyn…When I walked into the bakery, it was close to 7:30 pm ish. I only bought one croissant to take home for my tomorrow’s breakfast. I did look around all pies and cakes but told me self must hold on for those until I tried the croissant… All pies and cakes looked very appealing. Their prices were very reasonable or somewhat cheaper than Maryland…The staff was very attentive and friendly. She did not rush me despite the store was supposed to close at 7:30 pm…The next morning, I tried the croissant. OMG!! It was VERY GOOD!! I will definitely return the next time when I visit Brooklyn. I am going to buy a dozen of croissants plus their pies, cakes, and quiches!!

This cute little shop is very French and very good. It is filled to the brim with every type of French baked good and pastry you could ever imagine.I love their croissant sandwiches but I’m sure everything else is also amazing as well. The staff are friendly and very kind. I would highly recommend this spot if you’re around Brooklyn Heights and want a quality snack.

Best spot to find heavenly sandwiches, Chef bubu really nailed it . Thanks to manager Jenn also for all her great services.

I'll note that I never tried the croissant. The quiches are soggy when heated up, and the fruit tarts are more biscuits than tarts. The sweet paste is just lathered a top the disk
