What is Worth Choosing at Lubbies Bagels

Choosing a favorite at Lubbies Bagels can be tough, as the menu is packed with unique and delicious options. However, several items consistently draw high praise from the Dallas community and represent the best of what Lubbies offers. The cornerstone is, of course, the bagel itself. Choosing a dozen or a half-dozen to take home is a must, as these sourdough-based creations are excellent on their own, boasting that perfect crust and chew.

For the ultimate savory experience, the Bagel & Lox (Smoked Salmon) Sandwich is the undeniable star. It features their renowned house-cured and smoked salmon, paired with creamy plain cream cheese, capers, tomato, shaved red onion, and fresh dill. This signature item showcases their commitment to quality by doing the lox work in-house.

When it comes to schmears, adventurous palates should try the Chopped Chicken Liver or the savory Roasted Carrot Hummus, which offers a unique, schmearable deliciousness. For those who like a little kick, the Jalapeño-Cheddar cream cheese is a flavorful choice.

For lunch or a hearty breakfast sandwich, look to the inventive hot sandwiches. The Banh-Mitzvah is a must-try culinary mashup, and the Rhinestone Cowboy offers a memorable blend of sweet, smoky, and sassy flavors. Even the simple breakfast options, like the Breakfast Bagel with a whole egg omelet, meat, and cheese, are elevated by the quality of the bagel and the fresh ingredients.

Lubbies Bagels is more than just a place to grab a bite; it’s a destination for high-quality, lovingly prepared food that has quickly become an essential part of the East Dallas community. The blend of traditional recipes, innovative new ideas, and a commitment to fresh, responsibly sourced ingredients makes it a truly unique and worthwhile stop for anyone in Texas craving an authentic bagel experience.

Good lox sandwich on an everything bagel. $16 +tax/tip. Wait wasn’t bad. (They were out of everything bagels when I ordered, but a fresh batch was available within 5min.). Cream cheese was a little less than a true NY bagel sandwich, but still good.I ordered mine toasted and it was just right.

Cute bagel shop for the neighborhood. The BL(Avocado)T was really fresh and packed with lettuce and avocado. The pizza bagel for my daughter was a little dry/tough but she still enjoyed it! The Ruben sandwich was okay for my husband but the meat was very dark&brown throughout instead of a fresh reddish/pink with a dark crust. The food overall was okay but the atmosphere was great. The shop itself is really cute and the staff inside had big smiles. The outdoor seating was perfect for a sunny day like today but would love to see more seats. It's a small spot and we did have a bit of a wait but I think this place will get even better the longer they stay and the more they learn from the customer volume and expectations. Excited to come back to try the other fresh bagels and spreads!

Went this morning and the cashier girl was rude and passive aggressive, and acted like she didn’t understand us. Not sure if it had to do with us being minorities , but she kept talking slowly and being rude. She made our bagel and it’s extremely sloppy. If this is how your meant to present the bagels I’m shocked, this is the sloppiest one we’ve ever gotten from any bagel shop. Sucks we thought it would be a good addition to the area but service and quality continues to go downhill and we’ve been observing and turned off the last few visits . However we always tried to give a chance and paying $18 for this is crazy.

So glad to have a bagel shop in the area! Their coffee and matcha are very good as well! I really enjoy the bagel and cream cheese I get here, but paying for “double cream cheese” gets me every time. There should be a generous amount of cream cheese on a bagel so I don’t have to pay twice for it. Otherwise, beautiful shop and the people are friendly!

We stopped in recently for a coffee and a bagel and it was a good experience. The staff was friendly and informative. The coffee was delicious (iced mocha) and the bagel was tasty. They have a great selection of bagels and they also have a full menu of sandwiches to try. A little pricey but worth it for a local business. We will definitely be back.
