For those navigating the busy corridors of Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), especially in Terminal C, finding a truly enjoyable dining experience can transform a rushed journey into a pleasant interlude. Among the array of options, Mélange Bakery Café emerges as a notable destination, offering more than just quick bites. This establishment is a beacon for those in New Jersey and beyond who appreciate high-quality baked goods, expertly crafted pastries, and even savory delights, all within the convenient setting of one of our state's major transportation hubs.

Mélange Bakery Café isn't your average airport eatery. It's part of a visionary re-imagining of EWR Terminal C's culinary landscape, a project that has brought a new standard of dining to travelers. With reported consultation from renowned pastry chef Jacques Torres, Mélange aims to deliver a level of quality and freshness that one might typically expect from a high-end city bakery, rather than an airport. This commitment to excellence means that every croissant, every bagel, and every sweet treat is prepared with a dedication to flavor and texture.

While some airport food experiences can be hit or miss, Mélange strives for consistency and a positive impression. As one customer noted, the food here can be "pleasantly surprising," with dishes tasting "fresh" and well-prepared. It's a place designed to offer a comforting and delicious experience, whether you're grabbing a quick breakfast before an early flight, enjoying a leisurely coffee break, or seeking a delightful dessert to sweeten your journey. For New Jersey locals, Mélange represents an accessible opportunity to indulge in gourmet baked goods without even leaving the airport.

Lukewarm soup with soggy croutons and a handful of huge nuts on top and a side salad swimming in exceptionally bitter dressing. No soup spoon was given - ate soup with a teaspoon of:( Food wasn’t good.

Pleasantly surprised about the food here. Everything tasted fresh and the chicken was well seasoned. Our server was also super nice. Couldn't have asked for a better place to sit and eat

8:45am order on a weekday, with a generous 20% tip. Does NOT come with silverware, have to wait 5 minutes with the food in front of me getting cold. Water glass is missing, have to be asked/reminded . French toast is burnt ($18).Overall this is a lackluster, pathetic establishment.

I’ve promised myself to never leave a bad review unless it is truly earned. And this one earns it. Typical no care, dry, tasteless overpriced pastries. Bought about 6 different things and straight to the trash they went. Should have known better, I feel bad for the people who maybe have less to spend and fall for this kind of food in airports.

40 minutes to get an entree. Was told 20. 3% NJ employee retention charge gets you listening to employees talk about how they “are outta here in 5 minutes” all QR code ordering which is fine for most part but the 3% to listen to employees personal lives and hand you food late without apology is ridiculous. I would not recommend tipping on the app when ordering as requested. I would wait until you finish your dining experience.
