Table X Bread: Elevating the Artisan Bakery Experience in Salt Lake City

For those in the Utah community with a true appreciation for handcrafted, high-quality baked goods,

Table X Bread

stands out as a unique and dedicated culinary destination. Originally established to meet the high demand for the signature sourdough served at the acclaimed Table X restaurant, this bakery has evolved into a powerhouse for artisanal bread and exquisite European-style pastries. Located in the vibrant Millcreek area of Salt Lake City, Table X Bread is more than just a bakery; it is a commitment to the craft, featuring loaves that can take over 36 hours to create and are made with a focus on local, organic flour.

The philosophy here is simple: notice the quality in every ingredient. From the depth of flavor in their signature

Table X House Sourdough

to the perfect, flaky layers of a

, the focus is squarely on excellence. Local patrons choose Table X Bread for its consistency, its commitment to natural fermentation, and the distinct, savory 'dark' bake they use—a technique that ensures proper caramelization and unparalleled crust and crunch. While the prices reflect the premium quality and labor-intensive process, customers consistently agree that the exceptional taste and fresh, high-quality ingredients make it entirely worth the investment. It’s an ideal spot for those seeking an elevated breakfast pastry, a superior loaf of bread for the week, or a fantastic, hand-crafted cup of coffee.

Every bite was delicious and made with noticeably fresh and high-quality ingredients. So worth the money for the quality. Better for grab and go pastries and sourdough than sitting and staying a while, although they do have a small seating area.

Tried the toast and sandwich of the day both were amazing. Tried the giant peanut butter cookie which was also so tasty with perfect texture. The bread was the star so soft and delightful. Tried the chai latte and mocha latte both super tasty with quality beans. Small on the inside only three seats but when we went in on a Tuesday morning it wasn’t busy. Plenty of patio seating. Cute art. Great staff. $38 for two people on two dishes, a pastry , and two coffees. If I lived local I would get my bread here weekly.

Operating out of the ground floor of the parent restaurant, the bakery sells the best bread in town. In addition, there’s a smaller selection of croissants and pastries that are fantastic. Great coffee. There’s very limited seating- a bar inside and three outside tables, so be ready to eat your order on the go. You can also get a packet of their sourdough starter for $20 - expensive but worth it.

Came here for coffee and a light breakfast. I got the toast of the day, beet hummus and ricotta and my friend got the sandwich of the day, ham and cheese. The toast was good but was pretty expensive at $9. The sandwich was a better deal at $12 and was quite tasty but it had really fibrous, inedible pieces of fennel in it which you had to pick out. I also got a couple pastries and a sourdough loaf to-go. The pain au chocolate was $9 but was ridiculously good, so flaky and buttery! Worth it as a special treat. The food was good but didn't seem worth the price, I think the move for table x bread is going for the freshly baked pastries and breads instead of ordering the toasts/sandwiches. Their bread is so good, crispy and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside, highly recommend the sourdough. The drip coffee was also worth it, very flavorful and reasonably priced. If you plan to eat here, be mindful that there are only 3 indoor seats (there are several small tables outside).
