## Features / Highlights
The true brilliance of Au Coeur de Paris lies in the products themselves, particularly the remarkable puff pastries that have earned rave reviews from local customers. The baking here is characterized by an exceptional commitment to texture and flavor, resulting in items that stand out from the crowd.
Customer feedback consistently highlights several key items and features:
- Exceptional Puff Pastry Quality: The pastries are frequently described as "so good," characterized by their light, "flakey, fluffy, airy" texture. This indicates a mastery of lamination and baking technique, essential for world-class croissants and similar items.
- The Banh Mi Pate Chaud Hybrid: This is arguably the most unique and celebrated item on the menu. It is described as the "winner," a clever fusion that takes a cold-cut banh mi sandwich—complete with pickled carrot, daikon, jalapeños, cucumber, and meats—and serves it inside a savory puff pastry. This unique creation is made to order, guaranteeing ultimate freshness and an explosion of flavor.
- Deluxe Croissants: Favorites like the Chocolate Croissant and the Almond Chocolate Croissant are popular choices. The buttery, flaky dough is the foundation, though patrons note that for optimal enjoyment, one might need to ensure the filling is distributed evenly. The Ham and Cheese Croissants are also lauded for being consistently fresh and delicious.
- The Fruit Tart: This dessert item is singled out for its fantastic balance of textures and flavors—"crunchy and creamy and fruity"—demonstrating the bakery's skill extends beyond just leavened dough. The Cinnamon Apple item also receives high marks for taste.
- Warm and Welcoming Service: Beyond the food, the personal touch is a major highlight. Customers have noted the sweetness and kindness of the owners, who reportedly originated from San Diego, adding a friendly, local backstory to the establishment.
These features demonstrate that the bakery offers more than standard French fare; it provides a curated selection of sweet and savory items, many of which carry a unique Vietnamese-American influence, reflecting the local culture. The fusion items, in particular, represent a must-try culinary experience for anyone in the Orange County area.

## What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Au Coeur de Paris is about more than just satisfying a craving for baked goods; it’s about choosing a high-quality, authentic local experience that is perfectly tailored to the Southern California lifestyle. The core value proposition of this Westminster bakery rests on several pillars that make it an indispensable local business.
The main reason to choose this particular establishment is the unmatched quality of the puff pastry. The commitment to a "flakey, fluffy, airy" texture is a hallmark of excellent baking, ensuring that every croissant or pate chaud delivers a truly rewarding bite. This high standard of execution makes even a classic chocolate croissant a treat.
However, the true compelling differentiator is the innovative fusion of flavors, exemplified by the made-to-order Banh Mi Pate Chaud. This single item encapsulates the creative spirit of California's diverse food scene, offering a completely fresh take on a beloved Vietnamese sandwich. For the adventurous eater or anyone seeking a unique, savory breakfast or lunch option, this item alone justifies the visit. It provides a complexity of flavor—spicy jalapeños, sweet pickled vegetables, and savory meat—all wrapped in the buttery flakiness of a French pastry shell.
Furthermore, the convenience factor is significant. With a focus on Takeout and the ideal setup for a Quick visit, the bakery respects your time. Combined with its easy Accessibility—including a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking—it ensures a smooth, stress-free experience from start to finish. In short, Au Coeur de Paris offers a perfect trifecta: exceptional product quality, unique and memorable flavor fusions, and convenient, friendly service, making it an essential stop for any bakery enthusiast in Orange County.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Came here once before during pandemic when you couldn’t go inside to order. You had to order from the door. Back again and got to go inside. The owners are so sweet and super nice. They’re originally from San Diego! We got a chocolate croissant ($3.95), almond chocolate croissant ($4.95), pate chaud, and pate chaud sandwich ($3.95).The puff pastries here are so good. Very flakey, fluffy, airy, and big.I just wished the chocolate croissant had more consistency in the chocolate chips spread throughout so that you’re not just eating dough. Same thing with pate chaud. The pork meatball is smack in the center so when you eat the edges, it’s all dough until you get to the filling in the center.I have to say, the banh mi pate chaud was the winner. Exactly like a cold cut banh mi with the pickled carrot, daikon, jalapeños, cucumber, and meats but on a puff pastry. This is made to order so it’s guarantee fresh each time. Yumminess in your mouth!
October 10 · My LeAmazing fruit tart - crunchy and creamy and fruity! Tasty cinnamon apple, delicious ham and cheese croissants!!! Always fresh!!
December 03 · Ivet LeveWe decided to try the bánh pâté chaud out of curiosity, but it was disappointing. It felt overpriced at $4.50 for its size—it was small and only took a few bites to finish. We felt it wasn’t worth the cost and nothing special. Additionally, the service could have been better; the staff member who took our order didn't seem very friendly. The area itself felt a bit run-down and sketchy, which might explain the early closing hours. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Take your money elsewhere.
August 24 · TeeTee RodAs soon as I walked in. My eyes lit up. They have Paris Brest!! A french pastry made of choux pastry airy, light, soft in the middle, and a soft layer of crunch the outside. Delicately sweet and rich filling of praline cream. It's been over 10 years since I've had one. Finally, I found a French bakery that makes it. They have a good variety of other French pastry. Here's a list of what I got.Cream puffs: very light and not too sweet.Éclairs: same a cream Cream puffsMini frut tart: very cute and perfect for 1 person.Vietnamese ice coffee: excellent flavor. I love espresso, but my husband likes medium roast. This meets us halfway. Not overly sweeten and not too rich. It's just perfect.Paté chaud: it's the best I've had. I haven't had any good pate chaud in the last 15 years. I could tell they made everything fresh with good quality ingredients. Even my husband enjoyed the pate chaud. I regret only getting 2. I could eat 20 if more.My husband said, "we're definitely coming back" if we were local. Overall everything was yummy. The highlight of them all are. Pate chaud, vietnamese coffee and Paris brest. If we were local. I would come here daily for their vietnamese coffee and Paté chaud. And of course, for their Paris Brest.I believe they are the owners. They are very nice. We ordered a good amount of pastries. They asked us where were are going. We told them we are picking up food for the temple. He didn't charge us for the 2 Paté chaud. This speaks loud to me and my husband. They are passionate and generous. We will be supporting them when we come down to visit my sister. We will definitely tell our friends and family about them.
April 25 · Chassidy PheaNice simple bakery with good tasting offerings. The pear tart is light and good. Perfect sweetness.
