Cookietree Bakeries Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For businesses and local Utah users looking for high-quality, delicious cookies and baked goods in bulk, Cookietree Bakeries stands out as a significant player in the Salt Lake City food manufacturing and supply scene. Unlike a traditional retail bakery with a storefront focused on single-item sales, Cookietree operates primarily as a food products supplier, specializing in high-volume, ready-to-use frozen desserts. They are a dedicated Bakery and Cookie Shop that excels in providing solutions for the foodservice industry, in-store bakeries, and potentially local residents seeking bulk quantities of premium cookie dough or baked items.
Cookietree Bakeries originated in 1981 right here in Utah as a small retail cookie shop, quickly gaining success based on a special dough recipe loaded with high-quality chocolate. This initial local popularity led them to expand, first by shipping frozen baked cookies, and then by focusing on frozen cookie dough for customers who prefer the aroma and appeal of baking fresh on-site without the hassle of making dough from scratch.
Today, their operation in Salt Lake City is geared toward large-scale production, offering products that are distributed nationally and internationally. For the Utah consumer, their presence means access to commercial-grade quality cookie dough and desserts—an excellent resource for large family gatherings, events, or simply keeping a freezer stocked with easy-to-bake treats. While the business model is largely wholesale, they have built a local following through specialized retail opportunities, such as their popular 'seconds' sales (items that may be slightly imperfect or overstock but still delicious). Understanding that Cookietree is a supplier first is key to navigating the experience and maximizing the value they offer to the local community.
Location and Accessibility
Cookietree Bakeries is situated in the industrial and business district of Salt Lake City, a location strategically chosen for its proximity to major transportation routes, essential for a large-scale food products supplier.
The physical address is:
4010 Advantage Cir, Salt Lake City, UT 84104, USA
This location is in a commercial circle, which is easily reachable for businesses and local customers driving to pick up large orders. For the local user, this is a destination for a specific purpose—picking up bulk products—rather than a casual walk-in spot.
In terms of accessibility, the facility is designed to accommodate various needs, particularly those involved in commercial logistics, but also extending to public access:
- Wheelchair accessible entrance
- Wheelchair accessible parking lot
These features ensure that the pick-up area is accessible to all customers visiting the location. Visitors should note that as a primary production and supply facility, the environment may feel less like a traditional retail bakery and more like a commercial operation.
Services Offered
Cookietree Bakeries' services are focused on providing convenience and consistency in high-volume cookie and dessert products. Their core business revolves around two main product formats, which cater to both commercial clients and local customers seeking bulk frozen goods.
Key services and products include:
- Bake and Serve – Pre-Portioned Dough Discs: This is a main offering, providing perfectly measured, frozen discs ready to be placed directly onto a baking sheet. These are sold in large counts (e.g., 120, 180, 210, or 294 counts per case) and are available in many classic and specialty flavors, including:
- 1.75 oz. Chocolate Chip Dough Disc
- 1.5 oz. Dark Chocolate Chunk Dough Disc
- 1.75 oz. English Toffee Dough Disc
- 1.75 oz. Cranberry Walnut Dough Disc
- 1.75 oz. Double Fudge Dough Disc
- 1.33 oz. Double Fudge Whole Grain
- 1.09 oz. Chocolate Mudslide Dough Disc
- Thaw and Serve Cookies & Brownies: Ready-to-eat products that only require thawing, providing instant desserts for food service or large events. A listed example includes:
- 3.0 oz. 4 ½ Inch Brownie (36 Count)
- Wholesale and Food Products Supply: The company’s core function is supplying these products in bulk to restaurants, grocery stores, club stores, and in-store bakeries, which accounts for the vast majority of their operation.
- Local 'Seconds' Sales: This is the primary way local customers interact directly with the bakery. These sales offer products that may be slightly imperfect, overstock, or near-date at a discounted, case-lot price. These sales are typically limited to specific days and times (often Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons, though specific hours and days should always be confirmed by the customer).
- Bulk Product Focus: All listed products are sold in large, commercial-sized cases, with pricing structured for bulk purchasing.
Features / Highlights
For a local user in Utah, the major appeal of Cookietree Bakeries lies in its access to high-quality, bulk cookie products at potentially excellent values.
Key features and highlights include:
- Exceptional Value through 'Seconds' Sales: The opportunity to buy commercial-grade, delicious cookies and dough at significantly reduced prices is the main attraction for many local customers. This is perfect for large families, budget-conscious shoppers, or those planning a major event.
- Consistent, High-Quality Recipes: Cookietree has a long-standing reputation in the food industry, built on using quality ingredients, like large chunks of pure chocolate, ensuring a premium taste in every batch.
- Convenience of Bake and Serve: The pre-portioned, frozen cookie dough discs make fresh, warm cookies easy to achieve at home or for small businesses without the mess of mixing or scooping.
- Debit Card Payments Accepted: The facility accepts Debit Cards for local pickups, offering an easy payment method for in-person transactions.
- Variety of Flavors and Formats: They offer both cookies and brownies, in both Thaw & Serve and Bake & Serve formats, ensuring there are options for immediate consumption or fresh baking.
- Serving the Utah Community since 1981: The company has deep roots in the Utah community, starting as a small retail shop before growing into a major supplier, underscoring its long-term presence and commitment to quality.
Contact Information
For local Utah customers interested in placing large orders or inquiring about the 'seconds' sales schedule, here is the necessary contact information.
Address: 4010 Advantage Cir, Salt Lake City, UT 84104, USA
Phone (Local): (801) 268-2253
Mobile Phone: +1 801-268-2253
Important Note for Local Users: Because this is a high-volume industrial supplier, local customers should be aware that the customer service experience may differ from a typical retail bakery. Always call ahead or check their dedicated local sales channels (like a 'locals' website or social media, if available) for the most current information regarding seconds sale hours, inventory, and policies. Customer reviews indicate that details about which items are available or specific pickup times can sometimes be inconsistent, so confirming details is highly recommended before visiting.
What is Worth Choosing
Cookietree Bakeries is absolutely worth choosing for Utah locals whose priorities are volume, value, and convenience. If you are hosting a large party, stocking a school event, or simply want to keep a high-quality frozen dessert on hand for months, purchasing a case of their Bake and Serve Dough Discs is an incredibly efficient and cost-effective option. The ability to bake a fresh, warm cookie in minutes, whenever the craving strikes, is a significant selling point that standard retail bakeries can't match.
Furthermore, the local 'seconds' sale is a true gem for value seekers in Salt Lake City. While it may require patience and flexibility—as some reviews mention occasional issues with communication, inconsistent hours, or the need to wait for product pick-up—the substantial savings on a premium product are often worth the logistical effort. Customers who understand that they are interacting with a factory's direct sales outlet, rather than a cozy retail café, tend to have the best experience. The quality of the finished cookie, particularly flavors like the Chocolate Chip Dough Disc or their dense brownies, remains the core reason why local customers continue to choose Cookietree for their large-format dessert needs. For the local Utah shopper who loves cookies and wants a commercial-grade product at bulk pricing, Cookietree Bakeries provides an unbeatable resource.

August 13 · Improve ManI tried to call and the call dropped twice so I selected a different option from the recorded message and had to leave a message because the lady doesn't come in at 8:00 when the store opens. Never does it say that you can't buy seconds on Friday and never does it say that they don't sell the toffee nor the double fudge seconds as their website shows. The lady told me their website was hacked...THEN FIX IT!

May 27 · Chyreisse “Ree-Ree” BrewsterMy appointment is at 2 pm, check in at 10:30 am, got the door at 11:40 am and finished at 12:40 pm. Love it. Street parking available
September 09 · FF UUReceived two brownies as a gift in the mail, with a “send out” brand card. The brownies were inedible. Stale. Dry. Disgusting. My husband agreed and he’s not picky. We had to throw away both. I see others had similar reviews. Send Out’ needs to know as do their customers.
