Delicias Bakery & Delicatessen Introduce
For residents and visitors in Philadelphia's 19133 zip code, **Delicias Bakery & Delicatessen** serves as a dual-purpose culinary hub on North 5th Street. This establishment combines the irresistible aromas of a traditional bakery with the substantial offerings of a delicatessen, providing a unique and convenient experience for the Pennsylvania consumer. Positioned to cater to the daily routines of the community, Delicias is known for offering a wide variety of goods, often with a distinct Latin American or Cuban influence, making it a flavorful local spot for quick meals, fresh pastries, and essential deli items.
In a bustling neighborhood like North Philadelphia, Delicias Bakery & Delicatessen stands out by providing both sweet temptations and savory meals. Customers can rely on this location for a delicious start to their day with breakfast options, a satisfying lunch, or a quick, sweet treat to enjoy with a fresh cup of coffee. The inclusion of the "Delicatessen" service broadens its appeal significantly, moving beyond simple baked goods to offer prepared foods and sandwiches, which are highly valued by busy local users in the Pennsylvania region.
However, potential customers should be aware that the local context of this business includes serious and concerning public feedback. Recent customer reviews provided indicate that the business, and its associated phone line, has been the subject of allegations regarding EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) fraud and other serious issues. Specifically, customers have reported that EBT benefits were allegedly stolen, and some have linked the business to ongoing scam activity. These claims are very serious, and while the business remains listed as a functioning "Bakery," users are advised to proceed with caution and seek independent, current information about the business's operational status and ethical standing before making purchasing decisions.
The core business, when operating fully and reliably, offers a valued cultural and culinary service to the community. Typical offerings at a Delicias location often include Cuban-style pastries like *Pastelitos* (guava and cheese), authentic Cuban sandwiches (*El Cubano*), various empanadas, and strong Cuban coffees (*Café Cubano* and *Café con Leche*), alongside general bakery favorites. The fusion of the "Bakery" and "Delicatessen" types ensures a diverse menu that supports both essential grocery needs and indulgent cravings.
Delicias Bakery & Delicatessen is centrally located in a busy commercial section of North Philadelphia, a key feature for accessibility within the 19133 zip code. Its presence on North 5th Street—a major, well-trafficked thoroughfare—makes it a familiar and easy destination for Pennsylvania locals.
The physical address is:
2861 N 5th St, Philadelphia, PA 19133, USA
Its position ensures it is accessible by local driving routes and various public transportation options serving the surrounding Philadelphia neighborhoods. For customers planning a quick visit or a takeout order, the street-front location is highly convenient. While urban parking may vary, the general accessibility of being on a main city street supports a quick-service model, which is essential for busy city dwellers looking to grab breakfast or lunch on the go.
Based on the provided information, the establishment blends bakery operations with delicatessen services, tailored for a quick and convenient customer experience. The core services and offerings include:

Phone: (215) 427-9599

Choosing Delicias Bakery & Delicatessen, from a purely product and service standpoint, offers Philadelphia customers a distinctive fusion of Latin-inspired flavors in a convenient, quick-service format. If the business is operating smoothly, it provides unparalleled convenience for a fast breakfast or lunch, allowing users to efficiently grab a strong coffee and a satisfying meal or pastry.
Customers interested in **Latin American pastries and sandwiches**—such as Cuban coffee, *Pastelitos*, or a pressed Cuban sandwich—will likely find the menu to be a welcome, flavorful departure from typical American bakery offerings. The dual nature as a "Delicatessen" means one can get a quick, hearty meal, while the "Bakery" assures fresh, sweet baked goods. This blend is highly valuable for busy local consumers.
However, it is crucial that the customer consider the context of the location. Given the very serious, unverified claims in public reviews regarding EBT theft and potential scam activity, any consumer in Pennsylvania must exercise heightened caution. If choosing to visit, customers should monitor their transactions closely and only use secure payment methods. The establishment’s value lies in its unique product offering and neighborhood convenience, but these must be weighed against the significant ethical and security concerns raised publicly by users in the area. Ultimately, for those prioritizing a specific cultural menu and quick service, Delicias may be worth a visit, provided the customer prioritizes their personal security and transaction monitoring, seeking only confirmed, current information.

June 20 · James ShultiesThis location as well as Queen Village Food Market. Both located in Philadelphia are stealing EBT benefits from people. I truly believe these businesses are involved and fully aware of the scammers using stolen benefits. They need to be shutdown and there needs to be an investigation.
June 20 · Jamie MckenneyI just found out that someone stole my food stamps fraudulently and spent $243.16 at this establishment. And I can't get any of my food stamps back. I hope whoever is doing this knows that you stole food from my special needs daughter and this is the only income I receive every month. And I don't know how it's being done or what to do to stop it. I thought government funds were on lockdown but apparently not and they don't care. Oh and I live in South Carolina so explain to me how my food stamps got used at this address without my card and pin? I'm beyond pissed off 😡💯
April 02 · Lisa LucasSomeone stole my sisters snap benefits and used them at those location. They hacked her benefits and got over $200.00 and used them at different locations, they spent $77.52 at this location, trying to find out who they are...
July 09 · Bonita ClayMy food stamp card was used here swiped for 200 dollars and I live in OKC no clue how someone got my info. 4-1-2025 and it was swiped at a couple more stores there. Y'all be careful with this store and swiping your cards.
