What is Worth Choosing
For New Yorkers seeking a meal that prioritizes quality, freshness, and variety, Hillside Farm to Bagel is a compelling choice. This establishment expertly bridges the gap between a traditional bagel shop and a modern farm-to-table eatery.
The primary reason to choose Hillside Farm to Bagel is their unwavering focus on fresh, local ingredients. Knowing that your egg sandwich is made with pasture-raised eggs sourced from Cardinale Acres Farm adds a layer of quality and transparency that is rare in a typical deli.
For breakfast, highly recommended choices include their classic Bagel Cc, Lox & Red Onions ($13.95) or one of their acclaimed scrambles, like the Farmers Scramble ($17.45). The breakfast dishes are consistently praised for being substantial and expertly prepared. For a lighter, yet flavorful option, their various takes on oatmeal bowls and parfaits, such as the Oatmeal W/Strawberries & Blueberries ($8.95), are excellent choices.
If you require gluten-free options, this is arguably one of the best spots on Staten Island. The overwhelmingly positive feedback on their gluten-free bagels and other alternatives makes them a must-try for anyone with dietary restrictions who misses that authentic New York bagel experience.
For lunch, the variety of salads, paninis, and Boar’s Head sandwiches ensures a satisfying mid-day meal. The specialty Paninis, like the Buffalo Chicken Panini ($15.95), offer a hearty and flavorful choice, while the large, customizable salads from the "From the Fields" section are perfect for a fresh and healthier option. Finally, don't overlook their dedication to preparing side items, with their homefries often noted by patrons as being "cooked to perfection." Hillside Farm to Bagel is a reliable, high-quality, and community-focused establishment that delivers on its farm-fresh promise.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is a tiny gem, they make the best flagels (flat bagels) on the island. They have freshly squeezed juices and variety of freshly baked goods. The prices are reasonable for the quality! Very clean and staff is so pleasant. Give it a try!
May 31 · HalynaI love their quality and diversity of food options. How many restaurants or delis do you know that you can add broccoli rabe to your bagel or croissant? My only complaint is that they need to lighten up on the oil, however broccoli rabe requires a lot of oil.Their food is always fresh, delicious and tasty.I enjoy their options. I also like when I call them for specific condiments they are pleasant and accommodating. I only wish that they would put basil instead of oregano on the home fries which are cooked to perfection, I find oregano overpowering.
August 24 · SassyPregnancy Craving Fulfilled — GF Bagel Heaven!I came in with a very specific pregnancy craving—a gluten-free everything bagel with egg, cheese, and pastrami—and they nailed it. It’s SO hard to find GF bagels, let alone ones this delicious. They also had a great variety of gluten-free muffins, cookies, and snacks, which was such a pleasant surprise. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, and their iced coffee hit the spot too.
May 25 · Dhurata TI come here all the time with my boyfriend we get bacon egg and cheeses with hashbrowns on it. Every single time is delicious. The bagel is always so fresh but staff sometimes confuses your order so after you leave, make sure the correct ingredients are on your sandwiches, but the staff made up for it they gave us two free sandwiches on the house. Definitely recommend. Also recommend to order ahead on the phone because the line is always busy
August 02 · alexis elenaI stopped in about 20 minutes before closing and they were still so welcoming and helpful! I have a gluten and dairy sensitivity, and they were super accommodating—recommending different baked goods for me to try. The owner was so sweet and you can really tell how much he cares about the quality of what he sells.I got a ½ dozen GF bagels and a blueberry muffin and wow…both were amazing! He even gave me a few slices of their GF rye toast to take home and try before buying a loaf. Safe to say I’ll definitely be coming back for more—it tasted great and held up so well. Also, the slices are way bigger than the GF bread you usually find at grocery stores or even other bakeries. I’m so glad I found this place—I’ll for sure be a regular!
