La Favorita Bakery Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For over three generations, La Favorita Bakery has been an undeniable staple in the vibrant culinary landscape of East Los Angeles, deeply rooted in the community since its establishment in Boyle Heights in 1971. This is far more than a simple bakery; it is a cultural institution that proudly carries on the family baking traditions brought directly from Mexico City by the Beltran family. Operating from its location on East 4th Street, La Favorita specializes in authentic Mexican sweet breads (pan dulce) and serves as a full-service Cake shop for all of California's celebration needs.
The enduring success of La Favorita is built on a simple, powerful promise: freshly baked bread from the oven throughout the day. This commitment ensures that every visit is met with the enticing aroma of baked delights. They are celebrated for mastering the full spectrum of traditional Mexican pastries, from the buttery and fluffy conchas and horn-shaped cuernos to their famous, perfectly bite-sized mini-conchas, which they are proud to claim they originated.
La Favorita is a comprehensive destination, catering to both daily cravings and grand occasions. Customers frequently leave with large boxes of their favorites, attracted by the quality and the highly accessible pricing, which often makes customers feel like they are getting an incredible deal. While the quality of the bread is consistently hailed, the bakery is also known for its beautiful custom cakes for events like Weddings, Quinceañeras, and Birthdays. Furthermore, they ensure a complete experience by offering Mexican beverages like hot champurrado and refreshing aguas frescas, making it an essential quick visit destination for Breakfast or an afternoon treat.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The cashier was really rude and said something dumb right before I stepped out the door instead of to my face 😆 Someone else won't be as friendly. I will definitely Never step foot in that location again. Oh, and the parking sucks!!!
April 19 · Evelen SepulvedaDelicious traditional style panaderia. The prices were nuts- I felt like I was watching them get robbed- every customer I saw (5-7 in 10 mins) had a giant box full and they paid less than $10 everytime! They have all your favorites and even something french for your uppity cousins who don't like pan anymore. Venganse!
October 22 · Priscilla ArballoMy favorite panaderia, I swing by every time I'm in Boyle Heights. They have a huge selection and some things rotate. I especially like the bread with harden sugar topping. I love their elephant ears as it's crispy, buttery, crunchy, flakey and a hint of sweet. Cookies are yummy. Everything I've had is incredible, just depends what you want. If you pay with credit card they currently charge 60 cents, so bring cash when you can.
March 25 · LinhDa TThe Pan Dulce is Delicious here! Almost every time I've gone, the bread is freshly baked and nice and warm! Theres most likely going to be a line, but they are pretty quick and it's worth it!!
February 06 · Tracey ArrieroWhat's better than handling a soft warm concha that just came out of the oven? I love coming home like a hero with a bag of warm conchitas from this bakery! Prices are reasonable and the supply is constantly fresh. This bakery honors true recipes and I love them for it. Friendly, proud staff too.
