For many New Yorkers, particularly those with Eastern European roots, this bakery has been a familiar source for traditional breads and pastries, embodying a taste of home and heritage. The bakery's long history, dating back to 1882, speaks to its deep roots in the city's immigrant communities and its dedication to preserving old-world recipes. The name "Silver Bell" itself carries a sense of nostalgia for a product that was a staple in many households for generations. The bakery is known for its traditional Eastern European bread and babkas, items that are deeply connected to holiday traditions and family gatherings. For years, the bakery's products were a crucial part of celebrations, from Christmas to Easter, with the cheese babka being a particularly cherished item. This long-standing presence and its focus on specific, traditional products have made it a unique player in the local food scene. However, like many businesses that have been around for a long time, the public's perception can be complex and varied. Recent customer feedback, while not representing the entirety of its history, provides important insight into the current state of the business. For a local user in New York, understanding both the historical significance and the most recent customer experiences is essential for making an informed decision. This article provides a clear overview of the bakery's offerings, its location, and the available public commentary, offering a comprehensive look at this historic Glendale institution.
New Warsaw Bakery Inc - Silver Bell Products is located at 76-01 77th Ave in Glendale, NY 11385. For those looking to visit, the location is situated in a part of Queens that is accessible by car and commercial vehicles, with details from public sources even mentioning it has customer truck parking. While not in the middle of a bustling commercial strip, its location in this area has made it a central point for distribution, as the bakery has a long history of selling both retail and wholesale. For locals in New York, the New Warsaw Bakery Inc - Silver Bell Products holds a complex position, with a rich history and a more recent, concerning public profile. The provided reviews from customers highlight a significant shift in the quality of the products, with patrons expressing deep disappointment. Complaints of babkas being "over baked," having "very little cheese," and being "so dry we just threw them out" are serious concerns for any business, especially one that has been a long-time part of holiday traditions. Another customer, who ordered products for a holiday, described them as "old and dry," resulting in a lot of money "for nothing." This feedback is critical for New Yorkers who are considering the bakery for a special occasion or a daily purchase. While the bakery's historic legacy and its role in providing traditional goods for decades are noteworthy, the recent reviews indicate a potential decline in product quality. This information is crucial for local users who are looking for a reliable source of high-quality baked goods. The emotional tone of the reviews, with one person expressing how disappointed their granddaughter was, shows the deep connection customers had to the product, which makes the decline in quality even more impactful. Therefore, while the bakery has a storied history and once held a revered place in the community, the current public data suggests that potential customers should proceed with caution and may want to verify the freshness and quality of products before making a significant purchase.

April 20 · Jeannie LiepisI ordered 2 babka’s, an almond strudel, pumpernickel and rye bread for the holiday. My mistake was that I thought I was ordering directly from Silver Bell. After a week, the package arrived. Unfortunately, the products were old and dry. I tried to use some but threw the remainder in the garbage!! Spent a lot of money for nothing! Will be more careful next time!
January 05 · Joan BischoffOrdered Cheese Babka online to be delivered. It was absolutely delicious, fresh and moist. It was well packed and arrived on time and in great condition. Will order again
February 21 · EMILY C LIMBACHThis place is a European Bread and Bakery. The bread is amazing and comes in gigantic loaves. Putting it simply the bread is amazing. The bakery is right there and it is pretty huge and inside the bakery is an outlet store where you can buy the fresh bread. Use your google maps to find the place because it is in a hard to find corner of Middle Village. Their dark rye bread is moist and delicious. They have other sweet breads and pastries. I journed from Bay Ridge and was not disappointed. Hours are limited so check their hours before going.
April 27 · Barre FlynnLove the Lithuanian breads! I grew up with them and now live across the country. I'm so happy and thankful that Silver Bell ships!
