For the local connoisseur of Middle Eastern cuisine, or anyone in the California region seeking a truly authentic, fresh, and robustly flavored baked experience, the menu at Sunnin Bakery represents a cultural journey. While the provided feedback indicates the food is "very strong in different spices, including cumin and thyme," this is a hallmark of authentic Lebanese cuisine, offering a powerful, satisfying alternative to more commonplace breakfast and lunch options. The initial shock of the spice intensity, as noted by one user, is precisely what makes the flavors unforgettable and authentic to those accustomed to traditional preparation.
The bakery’s reputation for having a "perfect" Manaeesh is the central reason for a visit. The Manaeesh Zaatar is a classic, affordable starting point, offering a simple yet potent flavor profile. For a heartier meal, the Soujouk options—whether as a fresh sandwich roll or baked into a pizza—combine high-quality spiced beef with fresh dough, representing a significant upgrade from typical on-the-go fare.
In dessert, Sunnin Bakery provided classic Lebanese sweets, which perfectly balance the savory menu. The Namoura (a semolina and coconut cake) and the Baklava with Cashew are traditional, syrup-laced pastries that offer a sweet, aromatic finish to any meal.
Though some feedback mentioned a feeling of steep pricing or noted difficulties with customer service and parking, the overwhelming passion from the community—evidenced by the strong calls for the bakery to reopen—underscores the exceptional quality of the product itself. For local users, Sunnin Bakery is a spot where the **authentic flavor** and **freshness of the baked goods** are the primary, undeniable reasons to choose it, representing a culinary experience that many hope will soon be fully available to enjoy once again. The fresh, hot Manaeesh is the undisputed champion and the true worth of a visit.
The enduring commitment of the Westwood community to the establishment proves that Sunnin Bakery, in its prime, was more than a business—it was a cherished local institution providing authentic, comforting, and world-class Lebanese food to Los Angeles.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The bread is fresh. The sandwiches are freshly made with freshly baked bread. The Soujouk was nicely done, with eggs being done just right for my preference, not too runny. It's fun to watch the baker working on your bread. But there is no parking. The cashier is in a foul mood. The food is decent, but too exotic for my taste. Very strong in different spices, including cumin and thyme. I am not used to the strength. It's good to try it once for me. Also, with the prices being so steep, I really don't feel like I got what I paid for in value. In other words, I don't know if I will want to go back here again.
January 31 · Los AngelesWHY IS THIS PLACE CLOSED???Damnit. This is my favorite Lebanese spot in L.A. Their bakery is world class.Makes me feel the comfort of eating my mum’s food back home. Their Manaeesh is perfect. Truly should win awards.I hope you re open.
June 17 · Daniel BoutrosWe never miss a visit to Sunnin every time we are in the west side. The "Lebanese pizzas" are made to order and deliciously fresh! My favorite is the meat (lamb and beef) and the Zaatar. I can eat them all day and don't get full and/or tired of the flavors. Minus one star because is cash only. Time to sign up for Square or else.
January 23 · Dominique FryBest Manoushe in town!! I would recommend zaatar with veggies!Fool is another option that we usually order and it is served with a delicious freshly baked bread! The smell of zaatar when you enter the bakery reminds me of home. Also, do not forget to add custard to your order! You would not regret it!
February 07 · Michelle NakhoulThe portion is small and the taste is not good. This is what you get for $11. After spending $11, I was still hungry. I didn’t try another foods so I didn’t want to give lower rating. On weekdays, parking is not easy around this area. They have very small parking space but I don’t think you will find a spot. There is no free water and the bottle water is $2 plus tax. If you are from Turkey, you will not like here, because Turkish food is so delicious. There are two table space and a few bar sitting high chairs. You may not find place to sit also.
