## What is Worth Choosing
Choosing **Arroyo Bakery** is absolutely worth it for North Carolina residents who prioritize **authentic international flavor, high-quality fresh ingredients, and exceptional value**. This is the place to choose when you want a genuine taste of Mexican bakery tradition right here in Winston-Salem.
The core reason to choose Arroyo is the **unrivaled authenticity** of its products. You won't find better **tres leches cake** or fresher **bolillo** bread without leaving the Triad. Their reputation for making these signature items and others, such as flan and specialized sweet breads, from scratch daily ensures a superior taste that far surpasses commercial grocery store alternatives. The sheer variety and quality make it a local treasure—a true panaderia experience.
Furthermore, the business operates with a strong focus on accessibility and community. The fact that they accept **SNAP/EBT** payments and offer highly **affordable prices** means that every family in the area, regardless of budget, can enjoy high-quality cakes and bread. This inclusive payment model, combined with dedicated physical accessibility like a **Wheelchair accessible parking lot**, demonstrates a deep commitment to serving the entire community.
While some past customer feedback has highlighted instances of late communication on custom orders (like the last-minute chocolate cake issue) or service inconsistencies (rude staff, hot bread flattening concerns), these issues primarily point to the challenges faced by a popular, family-owned business managing **high demand**. Locals should view these incidents as communication hurdles, often associated with the chaos of a busy, fresh-baking kitchen, rather than a lack of product quality. The consensus remains that the **food quality and variety** are top-tier. When placing custom cake orders, call well ahead of the suggested two weeks to confirm ingredients, and for fresh bread, be prepared to possibly cool it properly at home. For authentic flavor and unparalleled value in Winston-Salem, Arroyo Bakery is the definitive choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you’re ordering a cake for pick up please beware. I placed a chocolate cake order for today sept 8, two weeks ago !! Today they call HALF AN HOUR before pick up saying they ran out chocolate bread if vanilla is okay. I said no, vanilla is the complete opposite of what the birthday person wanted and asked if I could get a refund since I had already paid and they aren’t delivering what was agreed on. When I went to go pick up the money the cashier apologized and said they ran out of chocolate bread yesterday bc they had a lot of orders. I said it’s fine don’t worry, which it was fine but why on earth wait 30 minutes before pick up to call and let me know??? That’s what got me pissed. Anyways , luckily I’m a baker but wanted to save myself from the hassle but ended up making my own chocolate cake for birthday person and turned out so much better. Very disappointed tho as this was my first time ordering a cake here and certainly the last. Picture of my cake for tax 😛
September 07 · Aldhair RamirezThis was a terrible experience. First, they gave me the wrong order and one of the staff members was rude. I waited 30–40 minutes, and at first they refused to give me a refund. The reason I wanted a refund was because the bread was hot and would have flattened by the time I got it home. When we placed the order, they told us it would be ready, and we even told them we’d be there in an hour. But when we arrived, the bread was just out the oven and still hot. Very unprofessional and disappointing.
August 30 · Rocky AdameMight want ti consider better cashiers. They have a big bad attitude do not make you feel welcomed at all. The disgusting attitude from cashiers makes it so bad. Never again.

June 05 · Wendy BustosPictures are not like the inside of the store. The store does not look like the pictures you see when you pull up the store which is very deceiving store, not located in a good area of Winston Salem, North Carolina
