Bagel Oasis Introduce
Introduction / Overview: A Seattle Institution for Authentic Bagels
Bagel Oasis, nestled in Seattle’s welcoming Ravenna neighborhood, is a long-standing, beloved institution that has been satisfying the Pacific Northwest’s craving for authentic, New York-style bagels since 1988. Unlike many regional imitations, Bagel Oasis is dedicated to old-fashioned baking methods, using only the finest natural ingredients with no preservatives or additives. The result is a bagel that boasts an unbeatable quality—a crucial detail for local Washingtonians who hold high standards for their morning carbohydrate fix.
More than just a bagel shop, Bagel Oasis functions as a full-service Breakfast Restaurant and Cafe. While their bagels and traditional bialys are the main draw, the expansive menu includes a wide variety of specialty sandwiches, unique regional omelettes, and deli-style take-out items. This breadth of offerings, combined with a quick, friendly service model, makes it a reliable daily stop for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. For Seattle locals, Bagel Oasis represents a comforting taste of East Coast tradition, perfected right here in the 206 area code.
Location and Accessibility
Bagel Oasis is strategically located at 2112 NE 65th St, Seattle, WA 98115, USA, placing it in the bustling heart of the Ravenna neighborhood, near the University District and other central Seattle communities. Its accessibility is a significant convenience for patrons across the Washington region.

In terms of physical access, the facility is designed to be inclusive, featuring both a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible parking lot. Features / Highlights
The key elements that make Bagel Oasis a favorite in the Washington culinary scene are centered on its authenticity and deep menu specialization.
- Authentic Bagel Quality: Since 1988, they have maintained a reputation for producing genuine New York-style bagels that are hand-rolled, boiled, and baked to achieve a crunchy exterior and a chewy, fluffy interior, with some customers specifically praising the Sourdough Bagel for its texture.
- The Seattle Bialy Dog: They are one of the key places to find a specialty item with local history—the Bialy Dog ($5.50) and the Seattle Bialy Dog ($10.00)—a 100% Beef frankfurter wrapped and baked in their famous bialy dough. The unique use of bialy dough is a significant departure from standard hot dog buns.
- Regionally Inspired Menu: The extensive menu features over ten specialty sandwiches and omelettes named after Washington locations and area codes, showcasing a strong sense of local pride and community connection (e.g., Space Needle, Beacon Hill, The San Juan).
- Comprehensive Breakfast & Lunch Destination: Serving as a fully operational cafe and deli, they offer everything from quick grab-and-go options like Egg On A Bagel ($7.75) to full specialty deli sandwiches and robust omelettes.
- Variety of Spreads: A wide selection of fresh, house-made cream cheese schmears allows customers to customize their bagel experience perfectly.

What is Worth Choosing
For a Washington local seeking the true essence of an East Coast-style bagel, Bagel Oasis is a necessary stop. It’s a business that has earned its reputation through decades of consistent quality and a commitment to traditional preparation methods.
The Quest for the Perfect Texture: What sets Bagel Oasis apart is the quality of the base product. For those with "high bagel standards," the hand-rolled process delivers the ideal texture: a perfect balance of a crunchy bite and a fluffy interior. While the Everything bagel is a classic, many dedicated customers find the Sourdough Bagel to be the near-perfect representation of this craft. This focus on dough quality is the primary reason to choose Bagel Oasis over other options.
Local and Innovative Culinary Identity: Beyond the classics, the shop’s specialty sandwiches and omelettes—with names like “Meatless In Seattle” and “*520 Quartet”—demonstrate a unique Seattle identity woven into classic deli fare. The chance to try the Seattle Bialy Dog, a local culinary oddity with a fascinating backstory rooted in Seattle street food, makes this a truly distinct and memorable dining choice.
Efficiency and Convenience: With generous operating hours, the availability of ample free street parking, and comprehensive service options like delivery and in-store pickup, Bagel Oasis is designed for the convenience of busy Washington residents. It’s an efficient, quality source for breakfast that guarantees an authentic, satisfying start to the day. Choosing Bagel Oasis means supporting a local legacy that has kept Seattle chewing happily for over three decades.

Bagel Oasis Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have high bagel standards growing up with NY bagels, but Bagel Oasis gets a 8/10 for me! I went for the sourdough bagel, which was the only bagel in the case that seemed to be the right amount of fluffy. I tried an everything bagel to see if there was a difference, and it was way more dense and crunchy than I want in a bagel. The sourdough bagel was near perfect - had a crunchy bite, but fluffy interior and delicious flavored cream cheese. It was satisfying and I wasn't disappointed. I'd recommend the sourdough bagel over the other types though. Will definitely be back to have it again!
September 13 · S BCustomer was amazing, very nice staff. only complaints was the food and the pricing. one bagel (bagel, tomato, pepper), was $15, and not the best flavor overall. The meal overall felt sad, and lifeless. The meal felt like a sad summer camp meal, but with the pricing of a fancy dinner.
August 09 · FinleyI was a bit nervous given recent reviews but I love me a good NY bagel. They did not disappoint, both were toasted to perfection and plenty of cream cheese. I had a onion bagel w/ fetta, garlic & dill flavored cream cheese and it was just as pungent flavorful as I'd hoped. Hubby had a Everything bagel w/ lox flavored cream cheese. Although delicious I wouldn't say it gave the lox experience. Which is totally ok, just know that going into it. I don't love the prices, however given the cost of overhead I understand it.
November 08 · Broken BoundariesThe vibe was off when I walked in the door to what feels like an old diner with 2024 prices. The two line situation (one for here and one to go) was convoluted, the service was quick and friendly but the food is pricy for what you receive. I ordered an everything bagel with lox schmear and received a salt bagel with lox schmear. When I let them know they made me my correct order immediately, however, my bagel wasn’t toasted. It was good I suppose but nothing remarkable. The everything seasoning was slightly muted. My kids enjoyed their plain bagels. I wish them the best of luck, there were enough people coming and going that I know they will survive. A couple a tweaks and they could be thriving.
January 05 · Colleen ConstantI've been going to bagel oasis for the past two years and have loved it ever since I set foot in it. If you're looking for an authentic NY bagel experience in Seattle this is the place to go! Getting a dozen and a tub or two of cream cheese is a must. Love getting a flavored schmear and taking to the park nearby too!!
