## What is Worth Choosing
For Washington locals seeking a genuinely high-quality and creatively inspired bakery experience, Bake Shop stands out, though it is important to know what the highlights are.
The Baked Goods Are Non-Negotiable: Patrons who are long-time fans and first-time visitors alike consistently celebrate the quality of the core bakery items. You absolutely must choose to try the bread and pastries. The Yukon gold potato cinnamon rolls—with their unique, moist texture—and the savory **yukon gold potato ham & cheese rolls** are signatures that deserve immediate attention. Similarly, the sourdough breads, from the simple **country loaf** to the nutrient-rich seedy brown bread, are perfect for taking home. The pastries and coffee are described as **"spectacular"** and **"so fantastic"** by reviewers who have frequented the shop for years. If you are only stopping for a Quick visit, prioritize a fresh-baked item and a quality coffee.
A Flexible and Inclusive Hub: The dual function as a daytime cafe and evening Wine bar provides valuable flexibility. You can start your day with one of their unique **Breakfast** options, like a sandwich or granola and yogurt, enjoy a casual lunch, or stop by later for a sophisticated evening with marinated olives, a charcuterie board, and a glass of wine. The inclusive environment, being a recognized **LGBTQ+ friendly** and **Transgender safespace**, ensures a warm, comfortable, and respectful experience for all.
Know Before You Go (Sandwiches/Toasts): While the baked goods, pastries, and coffee are universally loved, recent customer feedback suggests that the quality and consistency of the pre-made lunch items, such as the roasted veggie toast and various SANDWICHES, have been inconsistent. Long-time patrons note a decline in the quality of these items, describing them as being served cold or lacking the original abundance of ingredients. Therefore, while the full menu is available, local users seeking a superior savory meal might be best served focusing on the core bakery items and fresh-baked savory rolls, which remain spectacular.
In summary, choose Bake Shop for its award-worthy artisan breads and creative pastries, its quality **Coffee** offerings, and its genuinely welcoming atmosphere—it’s an essential stop in Uptown Seattle for anyone passionate about high-quality baking.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Bake Shop is in a lovely neighborhood, and we visited on a sunny Saturday morning when the café was filled with natural light. There’s also outdoor seating, but the place was busy with a long line, so ordering took a while. The café feels authentic, with most of the food made fresh. I ordered a mocha and a veggie sandwich—the sandwich took about 30 minutes but was absolutely worth the wait. The coffee was okay, nothing special, so I’d come here more for the food than the drinks. The coffee cost felt reasonable, but the food was on the expensive side—our coffee and veggie sandwich came to around $30 with tip, which I think is a bit much. Paid street parking is available nearby.
August 09 · Sourabh AmanchaI’ve never reviewed anywhere on Google before, but I have been a such a long time fan of Bake shop and I’ve been so disappointed recently that I felt like saying something.First off, their bakery items are spectacular and the coffee is so fantastic, so I definitely recommend those. However the food is SO bad recently. It seems like they went from making each sandwich/toast fresh per order to just making everything ahead of time and pulling it out of the fridge. The quality of the meals has gone down so much. The most recent time I went I got the veggie toast; there were almost no veggies (it used to be piled so high you couldn’t see the bread and was FABULOUS), it was COLD, and there was a fully uncooked clove of garlic sitting on it (see pictures)! The last several times I’ve ordered any of the sandwiches/toasts, they’ve been completely cold and honestly, just taste worse, to the point where I haven’t finished them. It also seems like they don’t come with the side salads or chips anymore but cost the same, which is so small but again just makes everything seem more disappointing. I had hoped it was a one-off issue, but this most recent time was the third experience like this.Overall the meal quality is so low now and it’s disappointing, since I have loved this place for years. But the baked goods, coffee, and FOH servers are all still so wonderful and lovely, so I can still recommend those! Just don’t go here for a meal. I hope they can make a comeback!
August 06 · Emma JacksonI am frustratingly trying to find somewhere in Seattle that has good breakfast food for a good price without a line out the door. I have yet to find it and Bake Shop is like all the other cafes in Seattle. $15.50 for a small breakfast sandwich and a 40 minute wait for a to-go order with a line nearly out the door. I’ll admit it was a good sandwich but in my opinion not worth the time invested.
August 09 · Matthew LeggettVisiting from CT, passing through on our way to a cruise. This was a 3 minute walk from our hotel. The nectarine blueberry galette was absolutely excellent. Not too sweet, flaky, fruity fresh. Their seasonal black sesame caramel latte with a salty whip was exactly what I wanted it to be. If I lived here, I'd either work here or be here all the time.I love the after hours idea. We came by with the nephews but they wanted something else, so I had to come back. Such a cool vibe and I'm only sorry I'm not here longer!
August 22 · Jennifer R.this cafe has a cozy vibe and a unique menu with an Asian twist. I tried the sesame matcha and miso cookie, both were delicious. It’s not those typical loud cafes so it’s great for studying or chatting with friends, although I think having a car would make it easier to go again but would highly recommend
