While the provided information suggests a variety of offerings, it is important for Texas users to be aware of the community feedback. Recent customer reviews indicate variability in service attentiveness and product quality, particularly regarding certain cake and specialty tea items. What is Worth Choosing
Based on the available information, the best items to choose at BF Bakery are those that align with their core service model: quick, grab-and-go items and essential beverages.
The Quick-Stop Essentials:
- Coffee: A reliable coffee offering is a major selling point for any quick-visit bakery. Grabbing a hot or iced coffee here is an ideal way to start your day or refresh in the afternoon.
- Everyday Pastries: While the cake quality has received mixed reviews, smaller, freshly made individual pastries—such as muffins, croissants, or cookies (typical bakery fare)—are likely the perfect pairing for their coffee, aligning best with the 'Quick visit' model.
Specialty and Consideration Items:
- Cakes for Occasions: BF Bakery is a local source for full-sized cakes (e.g., the Black Forest Cake). Local users looking for a cake for a special event should exercise due diligence, especially given feedback about freshness and texture. It is highly recommended to inquire about the cake’s preparation and storage methods directly with the staff at the time of order or pickup to ensure quality and freshness.
- Boba Tea Varieties: The bakery features specialty drinks like the Kumquat Lemon Green Tea. While one user experienced issues, the inclusion of boba tea shows an adventurous beverage selection that may be worth exploring for customers seeking a cold, sweet, and unique drink to complement a pastry.
A Word on the Experience:
It is important for local Plano customers to manage expectations regarding service. Customer feedback has pointed to moments of inattentive service and potential language barriers during complex orders like specialty drinks. For the best experience, Texans are advised to prepare their orders clearly and concisely, especially during peak hours. If picking up a high-value item like a cake, a brief, respectful inquiry about freshness and storage can go a long way to ensuring satisfaction. The bakery's main attraction remains its convenient location and capacity to serve quick, immediate needs for baked goods and coffee in the bustling Plano area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Absolutely horrid cake. The Black Forest Cake was frozen and literally couldn't be cut through with the provided plastic knife. I'm not sure how old it is, but it's probably stale. Instead of fluffy, the cake was dense and solid.I usually go to tour le jour at Ranch, and will continue to do so.
October 02 · Henry ShaoThis bakery went downhill a lot recently. The Hispanic girl who took my order today apparently didn’t pay attention or didn’t know how to make the boba tea. I ordered a “kumquat lemon green tea” and I think she asked me “which sugar…” or something similar to that for the sugar level. And when I tried to ask again, her attitude was like…when it’s her who cannot speak English properly. Then the tea she gave me doesn’t have any kumquat flavor. I had to ask a man, probably the lead to make again for me. But none of them said sorry or something. All of the staff were not paying attention to the customers. They laughed and talked to each other and let the customers wait in the line.
August 19 · Trang DangTexas 2024: Destination 21BF BakeryHighlights:1. I love this durian cake! For the love of durian! For the durian lovers!2. Chiffon muffins are always fluffy, medium sweet, and now available in four different flavors!3. Egg Yolk Pastries is a type of moon cake. After trying and comparing to 8 other different bakeries in Texas and Florida, BF Bakery has been my favorite place for this particular pastries. Salted Egg yolk pastries are shaped into a ball filled with a salted egg yolk in the center with a different bean filling in the middle layer. It always tastes fresh, soft with a very buttery and flaky layering dough, and the bean filling has a light moisture while other bakeries make it very dry and coarse. I always have to get one every time I visit this bakery.Cons:1. Sometimes the slice of cake taste dry and old because it has been sitting in the case for way too long. If it's a fresh recent baked batch, the cake would be moist and light. So it's a hit and miss. I wish they have a date on when the cake was baked.2. If you like Italian tiramisu, then I suggest to not waste money trying their tiramisu here. It's a joke. My son picked a slice, besides having tiramisu flavor, it does not taste anything like tiramisu, but rather cakey and dry. You are better off buying the slice from Maggiano or Olive Garden instead. This is my most favorite Asian bakery I have been to. I wish Central Florida has a bakery like this. I would be their loyal customer for a lifetime. This bakery is located inside of 99 Ranch Market in Plano.Note: The Hispanic cashier has trouble communicating to me in English when I asked her if the durian cake is available for sale by the slice or not. She had to ask an Asian guy working near her. (Durian cake by the slice is available for $4.99/slice.)
July 06 · Snow LamAbsolute nonsense of a bakery. The salesgirl at the front is hispanic and doesn’t speak a word of English. I wanted to buy bread and drinks and asked about their promotions, the only words she could say was “no”. Im all for diversity in the workplace, but please learn to speak English if you work in customer service, this is a basic skill and requirement. You turn away people and business when you can’t communicate. What a shame.
July 31 · Hannah BDon’t order drinks here unless you want to see a circus showAlso, the coffee here has a caustic level of acidity. Their sea salt foam is just whipped cream borrowed from the cake station. Spend your money elsewhere
