Bimbo Bakeries Introduce
Introduction / Overview
When residents across Utah reach for their favorite loaf of whole-grain bread, a box of classic English muffins, or a sweet, recognizable snack cake, there is a very good chance that product has passed through the Bimbo Bakeries USA facility right here in Salt Lake City. While many local bakeries focus on individual, artisan counter sales, Bimbo Bakeries operates on a scale that is essential for feeding millions of households across the region. It is, in essence, the largest commercial baking company in the United States, and this location at 3475 S 300 W is a vital logistical and production hub ensuring freshness on Utah’s grocery store shelves.
The term "bakery" in this context refers to a massive-scale operation, specializing in the production, storage, and direct-to-store distribution of some of the most iconic and essential baked goods brands in the country. This Salt Lake City facility is a key node in a vast network that helps define the breakfast and lunch routine for families throughout the Wasatch Front and beyond. Its function is not to sell single pastries to walk-in customers but to facilitate the delivery of high-quality, trusted, and consistent products to local grocery stores, schools, restaurants, and other institutions.
For the Utah community, this facility represents a powerful economic presence and a constant source of popular, branded items. The company’s commitment, as part of the global Grupo Bimbo family, extends to nourishing the community with a diverse portfolio of products. This location ensures that whether you prefer a premium slice of bread or a convenient, classic treat, the products are readily available and consistently fresh, a logistical feat achieved through dedicated local operations.
Location and Accessibility
The Bimbo Bakeries USA facility is strategically located at 3475 S 300 W in the heart of Salt Lake City, UT 84115. This area is central to the city's commercial and industrial corridor, making it an ideal spot for large-scale distribution operations. Its proximity to major transportation routes, including Interstate 15 and major north-south arteries like 300 West, is crucial.
The choice of this location is designed for logistics efficiency, allowing the company’s fleet of distribution vehicles to quickly access highways for routes heading north to Ogden, south to Provo, and east-west across the valley. For independent operators and commercial partners utilizing the facility for product pickup, the location provides straightforward access for large trucks and delivery vehicles. As a commercial bakery specializing in mass distribution, the accessibility is prioritized for seamless, high-volume shipping rather than retail customer convenience. The yard and dock areas are specifically configured to handle the constant movement of large freight, ensuring that the distribution chain keeps moving and grocery stores remain stocked with the products Utahns rely on every day.
While the focus is commercial, the central 84115 location means the operation is a known, substantial feature of the Salt Lake Valley's infrastructure, symbolizing the connection between global brands and local consumption.

April 11 · Gurjant Sandhuupper management is incompetent, foremen are rude, over worked, and confused, they give truckers early pickup times and make them wait for hours and hours, they dont strap loads well, they dont inspect equipment, yard is overloaded and a mess, no room, and everyone here is constantly b-tching. they fired bunch of people and replaced them with robotics. i quit my job (trucking) because of the upper management here and foreman. their products are poison anyway. garbage company. go bankrupt already.
September 28 · john danielsI deliver freight there. Receiving guys are good.
April 11 · Mark Hendriksen1/6/23 9am: If you are a OTR driver making a delivery here for the first time, be aware of a few things: This place provides NO signage to guide you on where to go. So when you first get here, you turn in towards the main gate. BUT you need to make a quick right at a slant towards dock 14. DO NOT GO IN THE GATED AREA. Pull up along the fence near dock 14. If there is a truck already in the dock, then just pull up next to the fence and wait your turn. Then check in at the right side of dock 14. **And whatever you do, do NOT go check in until you are backed in position in front of dock 14 or you will get a major attitude from one of the white heavyset forklift drivers.**(Again, signage with instructions for outside OTR drivers coming in for the first time would make deliveries go a lot smoother here.)
