Bluesberry Bakery Introduce
For those of us in New York, especially when visiting the picturesque village of Lake Placid, there's a charming secret that locals and savvy visitors alike are quickly discovering: Bluesberry Bakery. This isn't your average large-scale bakery; it's a true "tiny but mighty" establishment that has been capturing hearts and taste buds with its incredible, scratch-made baked goods. From the moment you catch a whiff of freshly baked pastries wafting down Main Street, or spot a happy patron strolling by with what looks like an amazing scone, you'll understand why this little shop is generating so much buzz. Bluesberry Bakery embodies the essence of a traditional, dedicated craft bakery, focusing on quality over quantity and delivering an authentic, delicious experience. This article will provide you with all the essential details about Bluesberry Bakery, ensuring you can make the most of your visit to this delightful Lake Placid treasure.
Bluesberry Bakery is conveniently located right on the bustling Main Street of Lake Placid, New York, at 2436 Main St, Lake Placid, NY 12946, USA. Its prime spot on Main Street means it's easily accessible for anyone exploring the village on foot, which is a common way to experience Lake Placid. You'll likely spot it by following the enticing aromas or by noticing satisfied customers enjoying their treats. While its central location is a huge plus, it's important to note that Lake Placid's Main Street can be quite busy, especially during peak tourist seasons. For those driving, finding street parking might require a bit of patience, but the walk from nearby parking areas is typically pleasant. As a small, popular establishment, accessibility inside is limited, with no dedicated seating space, meaning most orders are for "to-go" enjoyment. However, its straightforward location makes it an easy find for a quick stop to grab some delicious baked goods before you continue exploring all that Lake Placid has to offer.
Bluesberry Bakery, despite its small size, offers a focused selection of freshly baked goods that are made from scratch, ensuring high quality and deliciousness. Their primary services revolve around providing these delectable items for takeaway:
- Daily Baked Pastries: The core offering includes a rotating selection of freshly baked pastries, with popular items like scones, Danishes, turnovers, and eclairs being consistently praised.
- Gourmet Scones: A standout item, their scones are described as being on the "bread-ier side" rather than biscuit-like, with unique and satisfying flavors such as blueberry almond and raspberry white chocolate.
- Specialty Desserts: Beyond daily pastries, they also offer tempting desserts like Boston cream pie and mini cheesecakes, providing a range of choices for those with a sweet tooth.
- Coffee and Beverage Pairings: To complement their baked goods, they serve coffee, including lattes, allowing customers to enjoy a complete breakfast or snack experience. Customers particularly recommend adding hazelnut syrup to lattes.
- To-Go Orders: Due to limited indoor space, the bakery primarily operates as a "to-go order joint," making it ideal for grabbing treats for a car ride, a hike, or simply to enjoy elsewhere.
Bluesberry Bakery's charm and popularity stem from several distinctive features and highlights that set it apart in the Lake Placid culinary scene:
- "Tiny but Mighty" Production: Despite its small footprint, the bakery consistently produces a high volume of incredibly delicious, scratch-made items. This dedication to quality in a limited space is a testament to their passion and efficiency.
- Scratch-Made Goodness: Every item is "scratch made," a significant highlight for customers who appreciate artisanal baking. This commitment to traditional methods ensures a superior taste and texture in all their offerings.
- Unique Scone Texture and Flavor: Their scones are a particular standout, noted for being "bread-ier" rather than the common biscuit-like variety. This unique texture, combined with flavors like blueberry almond and raspberry white chocolate that are "not sickly sweet," makes them highly sought after.
- Perfectly Balanced Sweetness: A common compliment is that their items are "not overly sweet," appealing to those who prefer a more balanced flavor profile in their pastries, allowing the natural tastes of the ingredients to shine.
- High Demand and Freshness: The bakery's popularity means items often sell out, especially later in the day. This "when they're out, they're out" policy is a direct indicator of their commitment to freshness and daily baking, encouraging customers to visit early for the best selection.
- Dedicated and Efficient Crew: Despite potential queues outside due to limited indoor space, the "small, dedicated crew of folks" behind the counter are praised for "keep things moving," ensuring a pleasant and quick service experience even during busy times.
- Iconic Breakfast Spot: Many visitors consider Bluesberry Bakery a crucial part of their Lake Placid breakfast routine, with some even making it a daily stop during their stay, highlighting its role in enhancing the local experience. The strawberry and cream cheese Danish is specifically mentioned as "the bomb," alongside "massive and delicious" scones.
- Wide Range of Tempting Treats: Beyond scones and Danishes, customers rave about various items, including "fabulous" turnovers, delicious éclairs, and the appealing look of their Boston cream pie and mini cheesecakes, showcasing a diverse talent in baking.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Have you heard of the little engine that could? This is the tiny but mighty bakery. I've been visiting Lake Placid for years, but only discovered this bakery this year, mostly by following its patrons who were perambulating around the Main Street what looked like amazing little scones.Speaking of said scones, they're fantastic. If you're expecting biscuit-line scones, these might be a bit of a disappointment. These are on the bread-ier side of the pastry spectrum, but no less satisfying. We tried the blueberry almond scone and the raspberry white chocolate, and both were scarfed down within minutes. I also love that these aren't sickly sweet. Paired with a latte (for which I highly, highly recommend getting a pump of the hazelnut syrup), Bluesberry Bakery was responsible for supplying some of the best breakfasts we had during our stay in Lake Placid.City folks ought to temper their expectations. This is a small town bakery on a quaint main street, and inside, space is tight. There isn't any seating space, and if two or more groups of customers come in simultaneously, the rest of the queue has to wait outside the door. But things behind the counter are manned by a small, dedicated crew of folks who keep things moving. As with any bakery that makes things fresh, come as soon as the urges hit; when they're out, they're out. I learned this the hard way when I came late afternoon for a scone and found they were sold out.
July 07 · Jane CI wish I could clone this bakery and bring it back home with me. All the items are scratch made and so incredibly delicious. It is really a To go order joint as it is really tiny inside and it's so popular you sometimes need to wait outside for it to clear out to even get to the counter. Rest assured, it is worth the wait!! We were in Lake Placid 3 mornings and I got (as the hobbits call it second breakfast) here every morning. My wife is rolling her eyes. The strawberry and cream cheese Danish was the bomb! So good! The scones were massive and delicious! Not overly sweet either! The turnovers were fabulous as was the eclair. The Boston cream pie and mini cheesecakes looked amazing. The almond pastry was light and delicious! Get some goods for the car ride or for a delicious on to go snack or dessert.
August 15 · JJ BechtelHam and cheese and sausage egg and cheese tuffed croissants are sooo dem good. I got both and couldve split it 4 ways. Reall french style croissants.Pro-tip Call ahead to make sure they have them. Will try some kf there other treats next year when I return.
