★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1So delighted we stopped in! We enjoyed a chocolate almond croissant and I had a flat white which paired perfectly. Staff was very kind and there was little to no issue finding seats. We’re in town to see a show at Daryl Roth Theatre and happy to find a nice place to pass the time.
May 27 · Lorene HendersonThe Apple Tart is perfection. Crisp, buttery, flaky. Ever since Bread Story opened, I found myself eating this apple tart often. Bread Story is a slice of Paris on First Avenue near Stuyvesant Town. I have been going here countless times and have other favorites. The breads and the inexpensive baguette taken home and slathered with French butter transports me instantly to Paris. Chouquettes ideally must be eaten in the morning when they are fresh. Paired with coffee it is tasty. Now there is a pound cake (quatre quart) sold by the slice and I like the lemon. Service is friendly. Two round tables with high stools are inside so it’s eat and leave. Lingering is not advisable.
February 11 · Sabena SinghMy girlfriend and I LOVE this place! So many yummy pastries and breads as well as quality coffee. The staff is very welcoming and efficient. Our favorites: cinnamon roll, walnut loaf, chocolate financiers
April 12 · Brennan CrossLooks great but as someone who grew up in France it’s impossible for me to spend $7.75 on a croissant. Croissant pur beurre cost €0.90 in my childhood, maybe €0.80 in a cheaper neighborhood. Today they cost like €1.10 maybe €1.20 of its one of these neo trendy bakeries. So yeah I’ll never spend $7 dollars on a croissant.
March 06 · Céline BodartBread Story of New York is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked bread that instantly makes you feel at home. Their selection is incredible—everything from classic baguettes and sourdough to unique artisan creations like olive ciabatta and walnut-raisin loaves. The quality of the bread is unmatched—perfectly crusty on the outside and soft, airy, and flavorful on the inside. You can tell they use the finest ingredients and bake with love.Their pastries are another highlight! The croissants are buttery perfection, and the almond ones are to die for. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help with recommendations.I realize everyone has different taste buds, If you’re a bread lover, this place is a must-visit. Bread Story is not just a bakery; it’s an experience that will keep you coming back for more. 5 stars without a doubt!
