★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1First time visit last week while visiting the city and so sad we do not have a Broken Tart at home! Highly highly highly suggest a visit to this beautiful bakery! I ordered a grain free chocolate chip cookie and a BT iced latte special and was not disappointed. Busy Friday morning but was still greeted with smiling faces and available seating! I love the atmosphere and neighborhood feeling, you can tell this is some people’s daily spot and is absolutely felt as I sat and enjoyed my treats! Very accessible and plenty of options for all dietary restrictions.
July 14 · Jessica BollesMy boyfriend and I came to oak park to stay for a week to visit chicago and matthiesen state park, we stayed for 5 days and tried broken tart on our first day and ended up eating here 4/5 days we stayed! We tried their savory kale croissant which was DELICIOUS, savory cheese and honey biscuit, again AMAZING, the sweet jam and cream biscuit, the sandwich they had and much more. Everything we tried was so good, the flavors all worked so well together!
April 26 · ali valentineBroken Tart is hands down the best bakery in Oak Park. The Kale Salad scone is the best scone I've ever had in my life. The chocolate chip ricotta cake is to die for. The sweet scones (when they have them) have always been amazing. The biscuits are tasty as well - seasoned to perfection. Love the smoothies and espresso drinks too. The staff is friendly and welcoming, despite often having a line out the door! I would skip the rosemary scone if you go and definitely get the kale and/or sweet. I've gotten a couple mini cakes as well, one of which was unfortunately pretty dry (this one was a carrot cake - maybe just a one off miss, since BT has usually been so good), but the other was amazing (some kind of hazelnut chocolate I believe). The regular bakery items have never disappointed! Cakes are also aesthetically beautiful, which is always a plus.
January 11 · Hannah JI can’t say enough great things about this place, I make a stop every chance I get! I’ve tried nearly everything, but the Kale scones are amazing! The coffee drinks are great and delicious. I’m a full time working mom, and my parents who watch my baby while I work said the only payment they need is a box of broken tart pastries! The people there are great, they really work as a team and are super efficient. Saturdays beware though, people are lined up, and for good reason!
September 19 · Beckee WelchIf you're in the area, you HAVE TO go!! This is such a great little shop; emphasis on little. It can get a little tight in there when busy, but it's worth the wait! The outdoor seating is great when the weather is good. My husband and I usually order a couple of things to go, including coffee. We always get the savory & sweet biscuits and the kale salad scone, because, health. The staff is always so welcoming, especially in the morning, and they are always quick to serve up a great latte!
