For residents of Cranston, Rhode Island, Buono's Bakery at 567 Reservoir Ave offers a complex but often rewarding experience. It's a local establishment deeply rooted in the community, boasting a heritage of traditional Italian baking and even a state-level declaration for being "Rhode Island's Best Bread." This recognition, combined with consistent positive feedback from customers who "much rather go here than anywhere else" for their bread and general bakery goods, highlights its strong suitability as a go-to source for daily staples and sweet treats. The vast array of breads, Italian pastries, cakes, pies, and biscuits provides an extensive selection that caters to a wide range of tastes and celebratory needs. However, it's crucial for locals to approach Buono's with an understanding of the varied customer experiences, particularly concerning their pizza. While the bakery excels in its core bread and pastry offerings, recent negative reviews regarding pizza quality, citing issues with freshness and temperature, indicate that not all items on their diverse menu may consistently meet the high standards some customers expect. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1How can a pizza shop sell day old pizza as fresh pizza!!! I took a party box to a family gathering and everyone complained about the pizza saying that it was cold and the dough was too hard to chew. When I tasted a piece. I agreed with everyone. The pizza was refrigerator temperature cold and the dough was not fresh. I would not recommend this Buono's shop.
February 20 · Diane SchaeferGet all your bread and bakery goods here! Its good, it sits well with my stomach, its delicious, its amazing. Honestly i much rather go here than anywhere else. Plus it is made LOCALLY. I am in love with this bakery seriously.
August 07 · Walter RodriguezHonestly, the stuff is so good, but the service here is so bad. Every time I go here, I get treated terribly. The lady at the counter always has some kind of attitude and some arbitrary rules that change every time. Mocking me, rude comments, going out of her way to ignore me, stereotyping me, etc. (The other lady is honestly the sweetest!) I've put up with it because I liked the bread and it's safe for a member of my household's allergies but I can't take it anymore!! She also told me that my family member with allergies deserved to d*e. (She told me it was God's plan). She's always rude!! Go to the other main location!!**update: I swore in my original review, I removed it because Google deleted or suppressed my review.
December 01 · sam bif you want to buy great bread with no preservatives for your hamburgers, subs, etc THIS IS THE PLACE, its is the very best, the bread is nice an spongy, it had the flavor just right for that good Italian bread, it could be used for pasta, for any dish from any country, you buy it you eat it because it is way too delicious to let it sit there, my family is Colombian and Salvadorian, and we fell head over heels over the great costumer service and kindness of the people who work at this bakery, they bake bread made with love, all of my special occasions and parties I always have to pass by Buono bakery to buy nice bread, and everyone always compliments on how fresh and nicely flavored, put some butter on it, voila! you got yourself a good treat and locally made! look nowhere else.
June 06 · Antonella carrillo-francoI buy a large loaf of Sicilian bread every week and the bread is of great quality, crusty and delicious. I have bought other products also--pizza strips and spinach pies, and have liked them as well. We are so happy they have the store on Reservoir. I wish we had these delicious bread products here in Newport!
