Cafe Such-A-Bagel Introduce
In the busy heart of Greenville, Rhode Island, Cafe Such-A-Bagel has long been a familiar and consistent part of the local community's daily routine. As its name suggests, the establishment is primarily known for its bagels, which have been a go-to choice for residents for many years. The shop, however, is more than just a place to grab a bagel; it's a bustling hub where people can find a selection of breakfast and lunch items, including sandwiches and coffee, making it a popular spot for a quick bite. Over the years, it has become a staple for many, including those who have been bringing their "out of state friends and family here many times" to share a piece of their local life. While the cafe is clearly a popular and well-established business with a loyal customer base, customer experiences can sometimes vary, as is the case with many busy local establishments.
The atmosphere at Cafe Such-A-Bagel is often described as busy, which is a testament to its popularity and the high volume of business it does. This kind of environment can lead to a mix of customer experiences. While some may appreciate the fast-paced, bustling nature of a successful local spot, others may find it overwhelming. The reviews from real customers reflect this dichotomy. One patron noted that "the service worker politely offered to heat it up" when a sandwich came out cold, highlighting a positive aspect of the customer service. However, other feedback points to more inconsistent experiences, such as an instance where a particular staff member was described as "very uninviting" and gave "less than the bare minimum" in terms of service. This range of feedback is not uncommon for a busy establishment that serves a high volume of customers daily and reflects the challenges of maintaining a consistent service experience under pressure.
The food itself also receives varied feedback. One review praised the "good selection" of bagels and noted that they would "continue to go and bring my family/friends." However, another customer expressed disappointment with a cold sandwich that was ordered as a "melt," and noted that the bagel itself was "tiny" and "lacked flavor." These contrasting views highlight that individual preferences and the specific items ordered can greatly influence a customer's overall impression. The customer who received a cold sandwich expressed frustration, suggesting that the experience was not on par with what they expected from a melt. However, the consistent presence of loyal customers who have been going to the cafe for years and continue to do so speaks to the fact that, for many, the quality and selection of the food are appealing enough to make it a regular destination.

The location is easy to find using GPS and is integrated into a commercial area with other businesses, which makes it a natural stop for people running errands or on their way to work. The accessibility of the location is a significant factor in the shop's ability to "do a lot of business," as noted in a customer review. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Been going to Such A Bagel for years, they have a good selection and I've taken out of state friends and family here many times. Half the time I get great customer service, half the time I get Crystal (?). I work in customer service and I know what it means to go above and beyond, and give the bare minimum. She consistently gives less than the bare minimum. From walking in, she is very uninviting. Not welcoming at all. Asks what I want, and when I start to give her my order she turns her back to me and starts to grab what I ask for. I will not speak to you when your back is turned to me, you can wait until I've given my order and then start on it. All of this with a blank stare almost like I'm upsetting her by just being there. Then I get my order and she picked out the absolute smallest bagel in the bunch and uses barely any cream cheese. $3.50 for a bagel smaller than my palm. This wasn't just one time, this is *Everytime* Crystal takes my order. She slams the card reader on the table and walks away while I'm putting in my card and then that's it. Doesn't say thank you, doesn't say enjoy. Extraordinarily bad customer service & food service in general. I like such a bagel and I will continue to go and bring my family/friends, but I refuse to have that unhappy woman serve me food.
March 20 · Aidan DooleyI ordered a cappuccino, and a chicken avocado melt. With tip it cost just under $20. This place does a lot of business, so I understand things not coming out of the kitchen perfect, but I ordered a sandwich melt.... and the chicken and cheese was cold... bagel untoasted. How is that a melt? I asked why it was cold, and the service worker politely offered to heat it up. When it was returned to me, half of the bagel was microwaved, as well as the chicken and cheese. The chicken was spongy like rib meat or filler somehow. Cappuccino was on par with average and average price as well. Service was good, busy environment. Bagels are tiny and mine wasn't toasted but still lacked flavor, even as a garlic bagel. Spend your money at an actual diner or breakfast spot.
September 01 · Billy GoogsThis is an okay spot for coffee and food but there are better options in the area in my opinion. The bagels/sandwiches are pretty good and always fresh but the coffee is lacking. I have only ever had the iced coffee, but no matter when I have gotten it, it has been terribly weak and watered down. So if you like stronger coffee, this is not your place.
May 09 · Kayla HazebrouckCame in here with my boyfriend and 2 year old daughter (I am a pregnant woman clearly visibly pregnant at that) and when you first walk in there is people standing all over the place no sense of direction whatsoever, no sign indicating where to order or anything and this was our first time going in there. We stood behind someone who looked like they might be in line only to find out after 2 more people come in and get into a line off the right of me and one asked me if I was waiting in line I said yes, and the other one said oh you’re waiting I said yes and got into the line. There was nobody at the front of the desk ordering so I moved up to order and said “hi” nicely to a blonde middle aged woman with her hair in a ponytail , she looked right in my face with an extremely annoyed look and didn’t say a WORD to me and proceeded to do whatever she was doing and WALK away. Okay? Now I was uncomfortable and disturbed by the service already. Then, a younger girl says “I can help who’s Next” and a man who knows we were ahead of him scurries up in front of the glass pastry case to place his order and I said “I’m actually next” and instead of correcting the man and having him wait his turn; she tells me “I’m so sorry” very awkwardly and continues to do his order rather than take ours after we were standing there for 10 minutes waiting to have our order taken. At that point I told my boyfriend let’s just leave, not once while we were in there did a worker say a single word to us other than “I’m so sorry” from the one girl who allowed another person to literally cut us in line while my boyfriend and I are standing there with our 2 year old clear as day at the register waiting for someone to speak to us and take our order. Not a single smile from any of the people who work there. Just looking miserable like they hate their jobs and the customers are a bother for even being there. Will never ever even ATTEMPT to go back after how disgusting and rude that customer service was, there’s way too many other cafes around to be spending money at a place like THIS & I’ll be sure to warn all my friends and family not to ever spend a dime here
May 10 · Kelvin RodriguezOverall my wife and I enjoy going to “Such a Bagel” the employees are very friendly and always provide great service. The owner/manager could be friendlier. What has not been great as of late is the fees, prices and consistency. The .35 charge is getting old. The prices are on the high side, a double egg and cheddar cheese sandwich on a bagel will run you almost $7 (I also tip). That is extreme for a nonmeat egg sandwich, he is charging $1.50 for an extra egg. With that in mind charging a fee to use a debit card is excessive. The bagels also range in size and freshness. Some have been left overs from the day before. It would also be nice to actually get apple cream cheese when it’s apple season. This year they offered it for only 1 week. Maybe take it off the menu board. The coffee is just bad.
