This breadth of options ensures that every customer walking in the door will find something to satisfy their craving, all while supporting a long-standing local California business.

What is Worth Choosing
For users in the Norwalk and Southeast Los Angeles region, Candle Light Bakery is definitively **worth choosing for its tremendous value and long-standing local appeal**. If you are looking for an affordable everyday treat, the bakery is nearly unmatched. You can easily stock up on a dozen cookies or several simple **Chocolate or Vanilla cupcakes for only $2.00 each**. Their specialty pastries, such as the creamy **Cannolis** and flaky **Cream Horns**, offer a delightful indulgence at budget-friendly prices. These items are perfect for satisfying a sweet craving or grabbing a quick, delicious dessert after a long day.
The bakery is an excellent choice for **simple, grab-and-go treats** and for its **convenient accessibility and free parking**. For local Californians prioritizing a swift, easy, and cost-effective dessert run, the bakery excels in its operational efficiency and affordability.
However, when choosing the bakery for a **special-order custom cake**, customers should proceed with caution and meticulous attention to detail. While the bakery has a long history, a crucial part of its customer feedback highlights significant issues with the handling of custom orders and subsequent customer service. A 30-year loyal customer reported a major mix-up where a special-order **CHOCOLATE cake was mistakenly made as VANILLA** due to an employee error on the receipt, and a refund or compensation was reportedly denied by management with a dismissive response. This underscores the need for any customer placing a special order to **carefully and verbally confirm every detail**—flavor, filling, and design—and **review the receipt immediately** upon placing and picking up the order. By being proactive and highly specific with simple designs and readily available flavors, you can take advantage of the bakery's affordability while minimizing the risk associated with complex custom requests.

July 05 · MelystikalI've been a loyal customer for over 30+ years and it only takes one mistake to lose a customer. If the option to give 0 stars I would give them 0 for the way Eric (manager's son) handled Cristina's mistake (their employee). On 7/26/25 I paid $75 for a special-order CHOCOLATE cake with straberries&whip filling + edible image. Found out (the night of) that my special-order cake was a VANILLA cake. I reached out to the store the following day and they said the manager would call me back because, after reviewing the receipt, the employee marked Vanilla on it. I waited but no call back. I called again the day after so the manager son's, Eric, called me back. He insisted that I signed for a vanilla cake but he could go back and review their video and recording for that day, which would take another call back and I agreed to because I was 100% certain of what was said and happened that day. He called me back today and said to me that he listened to the video and was able to clearly hear Cristina read back my order. He confirmed she read back "Vanilla cake, etc etc" so he couldn't do much or issue a refund. I asked him if he had listened to the entire conversation, but he conveniently replied that the conversation was "choppy and it was too loud" so he wasn't able to confirm that I ordered a chocolate cake. I told him I wasn't expecting a full refund but some type of compensation or accountability for their employee's mistake would be enough. He said he would go back and listen in on the conversation again and call me back but at this point it was clear he didn't want to or was going to do anything. I told him it was strange he only heard his employee repeating the order back and none of my conversation with her. He interrupted me and said that I "don't really have to do business with them anymore". That was enough for me so I said "Okay, thank you!" and hung up on him. No more business from me or friend/family referrals. If this is the way you, Eric, run your business, and from what I see I'm not the only one this has happened to this year, I hope you go down with negative ratings and reviews.Good luck to those who trust your "PERFECT" employees.
July 29 · kay funAlways a delight when I go here. Cakes and pastries never fail. Had an emergency and needed a cake for my baby shower.. they had lots of options and even personalized it that morning.
September 14 · Drea* BIf I could give this place 0 stars I would! I ordered a gender reveal cake for my sister and specifically asked the lady taking my order if the cake was going to dyed on the inside. She mentioned multiple times it will be dyed however it was not! There was a pink whipped cream on the inside which was one a super light pink colored that barely showed up and two I was told that the cake itself would be dyed. We had a whole conversation that I shouldn't do any other cake flavor so the pink color will pop! When we cut into the cake the cake was not dyed and when I called them to inform them that the cake was not what I ordered they only line they had to say was that we did review the order with you and in order to dye the cake it is an extra charge. Totally understand if it was an extra charge and I would have paid however I was not told it was an extra charge so I was under the impression it would be dyed. I paid $72 for a non dyed gender reveal cake. My advice take your money somewhere else cause at Candle Light Bakery they do not care or take responsibility for ruining such a special moment. Will never order from here again!
April 01 · Kajal VithaA couple of days ago, I purchased a fruit cake from this bakery as a gift. I usually buy from this place. However, the person who received the cake told me that while she and her family were eating it, one of the guests started choking. They were all scared and soon realized that there was a safety pin in that piece of cake. This could’ve cost someone’s life. Thankfully, nothing happened. This is extremely dangerous, and I will no longer be buying from this place.
