For first-time visitors or loyal patrons, Chulopan Cuban Bakery offers a variety of standout items that truly capture the essence of Cuban cuisine. Based on customer feedback and the traditional nature of Cuban bakeries, there are a few items that you should make a priority.
The most essential choice is the Cuban Coffee. Whether you opt for a small, potent Cafecito (a shot of sweetened Cuban espresso) or a Café con Leche (espresso with steamed milk, similar to a latte but sweeter), this is the fuel of the Cuban day and a signature offering that has earned high praise from local Texans. It's often described as providing a perfect, clean energy burst.
Next, dive into the pastries. The Pastelitos, especially the Guava or Guava and Cheese varieties (such as the Tartaleta De Guayaba or Crema De Leche Y Guayaba), are a must. They exemplify Cuban baking with their delicate, flaky crust and rich, sweet fillings. Customer reviews specifically highlight the excellent cheese pastelitos.
Finally, for a savory meal, look no further than the Pan Con Lechón (Pulled Pork Sandwich). While the traditional Cubano sandwich (ham, pork, Swiss, mustard, pickle) is the most famous, the Pan Con Lechón, featuring tender pulled pork marinated in Mojo Criollo (a traditional citrus-garlic marinade), is a deeply flavorful and authentic Cuban delight. Paired with a side of crispy Chicharrita Yuca (fried yuca sticks) or a buttery Tostada (toasted Cuban bread), it makes for an incredibly satisfying Texas lunch or dinner. Chulopan Cuban Bakery isn't just selling food; they're sharing a vibrant piece of Cuban culture, right here in Coppell.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Someone should’ve told me sooner that Chulopan is THIS good! Like, I’ve been driving 30 minutes to get pastries when THIS was right here?!I tried the cheese pastelito and ended up ordering 5 more to go. Also, their Cuban coffee gave me enough energy to clean my whole apartment and still go salsa dancing after.Honestly, 10/10. Friendly staff, real flavor, no fake hype. Just solid, delicious Cuban food made with love. Go. You won’t regret it.
June 25 · Teresa GomezI was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The bread was soft inside and perfectly crispy outside, the pastries were packed with filling, and the flan… wow. Creamy and sweet just right. You can tell they care about every detail.
June 25 · Carlos Perez-ErmusUnfortunately when I visited store there were no pastries in stock and those they offer in containers are too dry and nothing compared to freshly baked. They also didn't have traditional cuban bread loaves which is what I was truly there for. I guess I went on a bad day/time. The gentleman there was very nice though.
July 30 · A1 LucyAbsolutely delicious pastries! Highly recommend if you are a guava fan. I have been eagerly awaiting for them to open ever since they put a sign up😄. I’m so happy to find a small business serving Latin-American/Cuban baked goods in this area. They also have grocery items for sale inside too. Well priced and great customer service! I definitely recommend and plan to come back.
April 19 · superdense23I gave this place a try and had a chance to try a flan since literally all they had. it tasted like dough and grainy so wouldn't recommend this place. Also, I wasn't a fan of the gentleman helping me came out eating a sandwich and wonder if they eat and bake because that is gross. You will also realize when you go in there the place has a weird smell almost like wet socks. I would definitely not come back to this place as there are better cuban places than this but figured I would give them a try. Hope they do better
