Countryside Bakery Introduce
In the quiet and picturesque town of Thorndike, Massachusetts, there exists a true local treasure that has been a cornerstone of the community for generations: Countryside Bakery. This is not your typical modern bakery; it is a time-honored institution, a place where history and flavor intertwine to create a unique and unforgettable experience. As a small, family-owned business, Countryside Bakery has been serving the area for over a century, passing down treasured recipes and baking traditions from one generation to the next. What makes this bakery so special is its commitment to authenticity and its unwavering dedication to quality. Every loaf of bread and every sweet treat is made with wholesome perfection, embodying a heritage that is deeply rooted in the local landscape. For those in Massachusetts seeking a genuine taste of the past and a connection to a family legacy, Countryside Bakery offers a truly special destination.
The atmosphere of the bakery is a large part of its charm. It is literally nestled within a family farm, a piece of land that has witnessed the town grow up around it. Visitors are greeted by a building that exudes an "old fashion country bakery" vibe, with its well-worn authenticity and a palpable sense of history. You'll find a space filled with "giant mixers and plaster walls," a simple yet powerful testament to the bakery's enduring legacy. A customer review perfectly captures this feeling, describing it as a place "bursting with authenticity." It's a no-frills, no-fuss environment where the focus is entirely on the quality of the baked goods. This humble setting only adds to the magic, making the delicious treats inside feel even more special and lovingly made.
The location and accessibility of Countryside Bakery are part of its distinctive character. Situated at 4175 Pleasant St, Thorndike, MA 01079, the bakery is tucked away on what was once a sprawling family farm. Finding it is part of the adventure; as one customer noted, you should "look for the oval wood signage and the fading hay loft barn so you don't miss the jump in and drive off parking." This is a testament to the bakery's historical roots and its rural setting. The parking is described as a "take and go" style, highlighting the bakery's efficient and no-fuss approach to service. This model ensures that customers can quickly and easily grab their fresh-baked goods and be on their way.
A crucial point for locals to know is the bakery's unique operating schedule. Countryside Bakery is "literally only on Sundays." This limited availability adds to its mystique and makes a visit a cherished weekend tradition for many families. The Sunday-only schedule means that every week, locals eagerly anticipate their chance to stock up on fresh bread and treats. This is a very specific detail that is essential for anyone planning a visit, and it underscores the small, local nature of the business. The accessibility is not about being open seven days a week; it's about being there for the community every Sunday, providing a reliable and delicious treat that marks the end of the week.

This bakery is literally nestled in the family farm, whose land has been slowly changed by the town growing up around it. It's original status is its charm, as you will walk into an old fashion country bakery well worn and bursting with authenticity of giant mixers and plaster walls. Look for the oval wood signage and the fading hay loft barn so you don't miss the jump in and drive off parking. This is a cash take and go bakery... delicious! The price for everything in my pictures was $12. This is the perfect Sunday treat for the kids and family. Literally only on Sundays.

January 27 · Katie JonesBecause of a car accident I got detoured around by countryside bakery. I am never lucky enough to go by the bakery when it’s open, but today was the day! I got a loaf of rye bread baked this morning, and just like I remember when I was a kid it is awesome! I don’t really care for it after it’s been in the convenience stores for a day or so, but fresh from the bakery you cannot beat it!
January 13 · Sadie2006I've actually never been to this bakery before, but I have had their products! In Ware, MA there is a convenience store/gas station on West Street that sells a small selection of goodies from this bakery. I have tried their rye bread which was excellent! I have also tried their pumpkin chocolate chunk squares that are out of this world! If you've never had anything from here, I highly recommend you give them a try. Or if you happen to be in Ware, stop by that convenience store located next to the plaza with Subway, Dollar General & Dunkin. You won't be disappointed!☺
September 30 · Heather PierceI got 3 of the pumpkin walnut raisin muffins.omg I wish I got more. They were delicious. And their rye bread is the best in the world. I've been going there for 60 years . Love love love it.
