Cress Spring Bakery Introduce
Hello, Wisconsin food explorers! For those who believe that the best food often comes from the most dedicated, artisan producers, there is a true gem nestled in the beautiful countryside of Blue Mounds, Wisconsin: **Cress Spring Bakery**. This unique local establishment is a dual-threat, expertly combining the handcrafted excellence of a traditional **Bakery** with the comforting heartiness of a **Pizza restaurant**. It’s a place that transcends the typical bakery experience, offering not only "yummy bread" and world-class muffins but also a destination-worthy meal that makes the drive from Madison and the surrounding Dane County area completely "worth the trip."
Cress Spring Bakery has cultivated a reputation based on uncompromising quality and freshness. The commitment to crafting genuinely superior baked goods is evident in the enthusiastic feedback from local patrons. One customer, having sampled their wares at the Madison Farmers Market, awarded high praise, stating the **banana chocolate chip muffins** were among the "best" they'd had since enjoying "top notch ones in Hawaii." This level of quality comparison speaks volumes, emphasizing the moisture and deep flavor achieved by the bakers. The experience of getting treats "just come out of the oven," such as the "so tasty" scones enjoyed by another Friday visitor, underscores their dedication to providing the freshest possible products. This attention to detail and a passion for baking mastery is what makes Cress Spring Bakery a beloved fixture in the local Wisconsin food landscape.
The bakery’s unique combination with a pizza restaurant component adds an exciting dimension, transforming it from a quick stop into a full culinary experience. While the details of the pizza offerings might be discovered on site, the high quality of their baked goods suggests the pizza is built upon an equally excellent foundation—likely artisan crusts and fresh ingredients. Furthermore, the "friendly staff" ensures that whether you are picking up a loaf of bread or a full takeout meal, the service is welcoming and professional, adding to the overall charm and making it a place where customers feel valued and happy to return.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Wanted to give this bakery props for one of the best banana chocolate chip muffins I had since getting some top notch ones in Hawaii. So moist and flavorful. Kudos. (At the madison farmers market)
April 19 · Jeff GottdownunderWorth the trip on a Friday! Got there a little after 3 and the scones had just come out of the oven. So tasty. Friendly staff and so much yummy bread to choose from!
June 28 · Greg FThis is based on their Wednesday night music and pizza event. The atmosphere is great, the beer selection is good, and the pizza itself is tasty. If the weather is nice, call ahead or be prepared to potentially wait hours (literally) for food.
June 29 · Kevin HarriganDuring the spring and summer months, we enjoy visiting this farm for their Pizza-on-the-Farm events. They are typically every Wednesday evening and feature a unique offering of farm to table pizzas, each handcrafted and cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven. As if the one of a kind pizza offerings weren't enough to make the trek out to the country, they also bring in different live music each week. I recommend phoning in your order way ahead of time, as there is a long wait otherwise. The events are very kid friendly, but they no longer allow dogs.
June 28 · Eric BorchardtWow, what an experience this place is. The bakery is about 30 minutes removed from Madison, but the drive out there is a beautiful drive. Some friends and I ordered our pizzas earlier in the day, which I HIGHLY encourage. We pulled in 30 minutes early and their was a live band playing a bonfire going. It felt like you were transported to the Appalachian Mountains. To speak to the food, it was fun and delicious. The pizzas had very fresh ingredients and unique combinations. They were all very well put together and had that signature crusty bottom from the wood fired oven. 10 out of 10, would recommend.
