★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I chose the worst time to go to Gables Bagels- parents weekend, the morning after the annihilation of Illinois 63-10 :)The place was mobbed, of course. After waiting in line to order for 45+ minutes, I decided to try the Mendoza Brothers Cubano. After my daughter placed her usual veggie sausage breakfast sandwich. I ordered it.Ed was so enthusiastic about it, telling us how great the Mendoza family is, and how they told him it was “the best Cuban sandwich they’ve ever had”, I was skeptical. I know Ed wants to promote his products, but being that they are from Miami, I thought that Ed was just selling me.I too am from Cuban lineage and have a very critical mindset for these.Well, I’m happy to say it was right on. The mojo roast pork and the authentic ingredients were the real deal!My only negative take was that the time delay to get it out left the bagel sweaty and a bit soggy. That just made it a mess to handle but had no affect on the flavor.Gabby, at the register, with her friendly smile and welcoming attitude was a pleasure.Kudos Ed!! Can’t wait to try your new shop in Zionsville on 10/31.Ate it at the curb, of course. ;)
September 21 · Ray MatutesPretty good bagel place, would come back. Good size bagel with proportionate amount of toppings & smear. This is my go to bagel order so i’m comparing to other places nationwide and it’s pretty good but i have had better. Would recommend stopping by to try the cinnamon raisin smear, it’s perfect.
August 14 · Maddy HighamJust wanted something different than the hotel breakfast and stumbled in here.I will say the service and friendliness from the young lady at the counter guiding me on my breakfast choice all the way to whom I can only assume was the owner won me over before i even at the bagel.I ordered, after the recommendation, the Big Bob Basically a brisket egg cheese with a smear It was a great way to start the day.
June 22 · David TuckerThe worst Reuben sandwich that I’ve ever had. Corned beef or pastrami was flavorless. Rye was tough. The wrapper was literally stuck to the sandwich and we spent five minutes pulling it off. Cost $20. Chose not to eat the sandwich. I cannot possibly recommend this place. Will be cooking from home.
May 16 · drjsorgI love Gables. I always get the maple cream cheese with egg sausage and cheese on a sesame bagel and it always is amazing. I only knocked the point down a little because I do love a more fluffy chewy NY bagel, but overall definitely the best bagel in Bloomington.
