Choosing GuateBakery is choosing authenticity, quality, and a cultural experience that is hard to match in the Maryland region. For the local customer, what is truly worth choosing is the opportunity to taste genuinely traditional Guatemalan baked goods and meals prepared with care. The French bread and the expansive variety of Pan Dulce are the main attractions; reviews consistently point out the exceptional freshness and flavor, particularly in contrast to other local bakeries. The bread's quality makes it a perfect pairing for an everyday coffee or for a satisfying family breakfast.
Beyond the bakery items, the all-day breakfast options, like the "Desayuno Con Todo," provide fantastic value and a hearty, flavorful start to the day. The opportunity to find beloved and hard-to-find items like Pupusas, Rellenitos, and traditional beverages like Atole de Elote is a significant draw, especially for those with connections to Central American cuisine. While the bakery has received feedback regarding its phone service, the overwhelming consensus regarding the in-store experience highlights the kind and patient staff and the quality of the products. For residents planning celebrations, the specialized custom cakes—especially the Tres Leches—offer a delicious and culturally distinct option. In short, GuateBakery is worth choosing for its commitment to bringing the distinctive, delicious, and authentic "Taste of Guatemala" to the heart of Gaithersburg, offering a welcoming atmosphere and a satisfying meal or treat for everyone.

August 31 · milton torresgreat spot for coffee and pastry. i have tried the strawberry and pineapple turnover pastries and the french rolls and loved them all. honestly everything in the store looks delicious so i will keep coming back to try other things.the staff are very kind and patient.
March 05 · Ash Sutherlandalways bad service, bad attitude, owner is disrespectful towards customers, not to mention bad attitude from the daughter. I don’t recommend at all.
April 14 · Claudia CalderonIt’s my brother’s and my favorite bakery. We have been coming here for years now. My brother comes back from college and immediately drives over to GuateBakery to get the cookie with jelly in it. I honestly love everything they have to offer. It’s pretty cheap and you can get a lot of items for 10 dollars.
May 23 · Samiksha PaudelWell known for the best french rolls your mouth will ever taste! Soft, tasty and amazingly delicious. Parking in the back. Beware, it's very busy at times and can sell out fast because of how good their baked goods are.
