They have fresh food and the service from Gbemi the owner is 100%. Love the fact that her recommendations are always excellent. I highly recommend the bakery for all their food. September 06 · K HThis was a very quaint little bakery. The lady at the counter was super nice and welcoming. They do only a few things BUT THEY DO THEM WELL.The Puff Puff - were just the right amount of sweet and pillowy. The beef pie with potatoes - so good and comforting. The molasses cookies - full of flavor and spice. The hibiscus juice - they make in-house and it was super refreshing.(No seating, so we walked to oromo cafe to eat our pastries and have a coffee) Super affordable. Highly recommend.
November 12 · Olivia NeuzilI had the beef meat pie and cinnamon roll last weekend and have thought about them every day since! the cinnamon roll was so soft, gooey, filled with cinnamon, and had the perfect amount of icing. I think it took over the #1 spot for favorite cinnamon roll in Chicago for me. the meat pie was seasoned perfectly and the pastry was so tender - not tough or doughy at all. we went a bit late and the meat pie was still very warm inside, making it a great option for an on the go snack on a cold day. the cashier was very kind and was happy to explain the differences in fillings for the savory pastries (they had beef, chicken, and vegetable flavors). I'd love to try a loaf of bread next time, or really anything else they're offering! you'll probably find it hard to choose with how delicious everything looks in the case.
February 11 · Haley RaynorJoba does not miss. Delicious food every time, I’m hooked! Moimoi tastes like how I grew up eating it, so nostalgic! She will always have my money lol!
July 15 · Abdul BrimahA great neighborhood bakery where I can always count on a fresh loaf of brioche bread, cinnamon rolls (get them when they first open when they're still warm and the icing is partially melted), fried donut balls (great for kids), and a chicken meat pie that's a little spicy for lunch on the run.
